note !! rin + liu are my own ocs, and will only temporarily appear in the past. so they won't be very influential in the story and you can pretend they don't exist if you want.

(y/n)'s mouth dropped. why was this place so shiny? she could probably see her own reflection if she leaned in any closer to the wall. who the heck was monitoring these halls? did the knights of favonius or whatever they called themselves have maids?

this reminded (y/n) of rin and liu, her two students who she deemed her closest friends. rin would announce, 'hey doctor (y/n)! wanna go with me to the lantern festival?' and (y/n) would tell her to remove the 'doctor' prefix in her name while liu would cry out— 'but i want to go with miss (y/n)!'

she wondered where they were right now. she wouldn't be surprised if their last names were now owned my famous influential people, as after all, the two were extremely smart and (y/n) had even taken them both as students, and she rarely took interest in people.

"welcome to mondstadt, you requested a meeting with me? i apologise, i could've organised this on better standings, but i'm in a rush right now and quite busy." the acting grand master stood in front of the medic as they both stood up facing towards each other.

"busy? oh, i apologise for taking up your time. i'm here on a temproary experimental programme from within the borders of sumeru, and i'm wondering if i could get a tour around or so. i apologise for wasting your time just to ask for this, but your 'knights' did not seem to be interested in idle chat." she smiles at the acting grand master.

"huh? oh, i know the honorary knight is dropping around later, so i can ask them to show you around." was that so? well y/n proceeded thanked her for this, and apologising for wasting her time again.

after all, y/n knew what it was like to be busy and getting disturbed, having your attention drawn away from your work which was supposed to be top priority at the moment.

"that would be nice, can you set up a time to do so?" y/n asked, a fake smile tugging up her lips. after all, first impressions are key.

"yes that's fine, could you meet back here at night? you can use this opportunity to wander around, but perhaps not too far as we don't want you getting lost." the blonde haired woman, smiled kindly at the doctor.

"alright. thank you for taking time out of your day to prepare this meeting, i appreciate it." y/n bowed her head, arm slipping around her leather briefcase as she walked out the door, not sparing another glance at the blonde.

perhaps, just perhaps, she may be able to get used to her life here, as a normal citizen.

"excuse me sir, why the actual fuck is there a statue of you located in the midst mondstadt? i'm new around this place, thus i don't know about anything. i apologise if i come off as rude." the duality in her sentence was evident, but the fact that she managed to pick up on details like that so quickly made the navy blue-teal haired man shiver.

"w-what are you talking about?" he asked nervously, whistling and looking away. definelty not suspicious.

perhaps if he had known she was a world-renowned doctor, who was well versed in not only every area of physical studies, but psychological too, he would've just sprinted out of there. she was able to pick up on his body behaviour, realising that he was hiding something.

"if you're someone who's contributed a lot around here, i don't understand why you are trying to hide it. would it not be better to let me know of your presence and what you've done to get a giant statue of yourself in this nation?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

if only she was aware that the statue was of the anemo archon. pfft, like she even knew what archons, visions, and elemental powers were.

"also, it's so obvious. i can see the exact resemblance, your face shape, your hair style, even the way your body is structured. your eyes seem similiar even, the person who carved this must be talented indeed." but not as talented or amazing as me.

"ahahaha.. well.. truth be told, the statue is the anemo archon and he was actually one of my ancestors... if anyone knew, they'd be coming for my head, so can you keep this a secret?" at that exact moment he mentioned that, he had dug his own grave.

after all, who was she, if not a prideful doctor who took too much interest in nearly everything? so even alas, if he didn't mention that the statue was the anemo archon, and y/n herself never figured it out, she would've forever remembered that words the he said himself "one of my ancestors.. keep this a secret," and would've then proceed to use it as leverage forever.

she narrowed her eyes, a smile forming on her face. "pfft," she started.

"you're so funny. perhaps you could've fooled a normal person, but i find it so amusing that you tried to lie directly to me." she grinned, then suddenly her grin fell, as a light bulb struck in her head. he gulped, wondering if she had any bad intentions, inducing with the way she talked.

"wait-? you used the pronouns 'he' for the statue and anemo archon, was she not a girl?" she asked, raising an eyebrow, half confused, but also using it as a tactic to pull more out of him.

he immediately choked and gasped, quickly dusting himself down after he finished his 2 second moment. y/n merely stared at him, her eyes unblinking and narrowed in suspicion.

"haha.. did you not know that barbatos was a boy-?" he laughed nervously, hoping she would change her answer.

"i would've never been able to pick up on that, had you not mentioned it. of course, assuming by his looks and the way he poses, he clearly displays a feminine image, obviously causing the viewer's brain to assume that he was indeed in the female sex. but then again, i could've assumed that he was under no particular gender." she paused, waiting for the words to sink in to the confused man.

"after all, his clothes even look feminine. perhaps he could've displayed acts of being gender-fluid or such, or perhaps even wanted to transition to a girl? but again, it's your archon, not mine." she sighed tiredly, and rubbed her head.

there was utter silence, as if the teal haired male had just lost his brain cells, which he almost did.

"uh... uh," he stuttered, unknowing what to say. "want to get a drink at the angel's share?" he nervously added.

"i don't drink alcohol. but i'll pleasure you with my presence since you seem so desperate. you will pay though if i decide to order anything, yes?" she grinned mockingly, the male gulping again.

"y-yeah!" he stammered out.

"i didn't even get your name yet, sir? i'm y/n l/n, the doct- a girl who studies in the medical field." she introduced, offering a hand.

"i'm venti-?" he wanted to mentally hit himself. why did his introduction sound like a question? usually he was so bold when he introduced himself to people, why was he like this now?

"a bard of mondstadt." he added on, nodding his head.

"hm? is that so?" she slightly raised an eyebrow, grin growing wider.

"are you sure you're not anything more than that?"
