Trepidation flooded Soleil's mind as he and his rival travelled through the steel interior of the Shicksal HQ. His head ached with each step closer to the office of the Overseer, the unease in his bones intensified with each second spent in the base. The knight could never place his finger on why exactly he scorned the head of the organisation with a venomous insistence, his mind would always blank out whenever he spent too long on the subject.

Durandal's eyes flicked to her companion. His skin visibly paled before her as his breathing began more erratic. Momentarily staring forward once more, she paced closer to the knight, hand brushing aginst his arm.

"Hey. Just a few minutes in with Otto and we'll be scot-free afterward. If it helps, I can handle the report while you just bear with it for a bit. Okay?" He didn't audibly reply, either untrusting of his voice or his nerves had rendered him speechless, but Durandal spied the subtle nodding.

Coming upon the double doors to the office, they were hailed by the attendent, Amber as she saw the two into Otto's personal workplace. And there he was, seated upon a leather chair modeled in the likeness of a throne. The duo came to a stop, saluting as per routine.

"Lord Overseer Otto, S-Class Valkyrie Durandal and Knight Soleil, present! We've come as per your order to make our report and-" A wave of a hand silenced the Valkyrie as the chair slowly swivled and revealed the man in his entirety.

A wave of nausea slammed into Soleil, almost sending him reeling to the ground had it not been for Durandal catching him before he met the floor. His stomach churned and head burned with a passion as he agonized on the spot, unable to even directly look at Otto's eyes. Durandal crouched down, cupping his face in her hands and kept his gaze focused on her eyes, she could see his pupils dilating and twitching every so often, but was relieved to find his breathing even out as he kept his seafoam eyes focused upon her cobalt.

"It would appear as though Soleil is looking the worse for wear, now that simply wouldn't do would it if the public were to see their Knight in shining armour suddenly collapsed while on duty." Otto placed the glass of wine that he had been swirling in his grip upon the wide desk before him, stepping off of his seat and placing slowly toward the two.

"Perhaps it's about time our resident Knight was given time off."

.....

"Are you sure you'll be okay?"

Soleil paused in the hallway, the meeting with the Overseer having ended a few minutes beforehand. Quirking an eyebrow, he turned toward the woman with a hand on his hip. "Yeah, I'm perfectly fine Durandal. It's been a few hours since I've used the Judgement of Shamash so I'm pretty much back up to speed in my physicality."

His beaming grin was infectious, the woman found her lips curling in a smile.

"That's not what I meant. It looked as if you were on the verge of a heart attack back there." Durandal's words kickstarted his mind, recalling the conversation they just had. HIs hand cupped his chin as he thought back, nothing really came to mind other than his latest assignment that may had very well been a holiday for himself. He'd even get to see his family since his deployment with the Immortal Blades.

"Bianka...are you feeling okay? I was fine, Kiana's all well and good just like I believed she would be and their squad came back with minimal injuries. Plus I've basically been given some vacation time to overlook this year's Valkyrie Rank Exam with Rita, maybe I can give her some personal training to make sure she's not fluffing about in school."

He continued his leisurely stroll, completely oblivious to the conflict playing within Durandal's mind. She knew she saw and believed in what happened in that office. There wasn't so much as an official report, but an assignment in regards to Soleil's attendance to the exams at St. Freya High. He was the most terrified he had been in the time they'd known each other, he was always the most fearless when it came to facing beasts capable of eradicating human civilisation.

she shook her head, perhaps if he was truly fine then she shouldn't have to worry about him unless it became an impedence in his performance during missions. she had a duty to uphold and accomplish, much like himself.

Unbeknowst to the two, one stood behind with a smile upon his sly lips.

A golden plume, clutched betwixt his fingers.
