Wren's head hurt when he awoke. It was dark. Crickets trilled in the night. He felt dazed. His vision was blurry and his head felt like a boulder floating on clouds. But he had to find –

He couldn't remember.

He was supposed to do something. He was supposed to go somewhere. He had promised someone something. But what?

It hurt to think, but he had made a promise, hadn't he? If he had made a promise, he had to keep it. That was the rule when one made a promise*.

It came to him then.

Home.

He had to go home.

And so Wren started walking.
