(A/N ) : Not edited because it's 3 am
I woke up with a groan in the middle of the night, my face burned and ached fiercely and I opened my eyes only to find that the inflamed scratches inhibited me from opening my left eye the whole way . . . fantastic
i looked about in the dim morning light and found that Faelen was curled up against the tree that we had fallen against after we came through the gate not caring how weird it might be i crawled over to him and layed down on his chest ,i put my arm under my good cheek his steady breathing immediately beginning to lull my groggy mind back to sleep when i felt something brush past my scratches and i let out a hiss of pain the wind had picked up whipping my hair around
“ Kell ? “ Faelen mumbled
Well i suppose i'm not going to get any sleep now “ yeah ?” i answered him back
“uh we should probably get going if were going to get to a medic by nightfall” faelen said now sounding mostly awake
confused i sat up a bit and looked at him “what do you mean nightfall ? the suns only just begun to rise”
“yeah well by this lands standards we have slept most of the day away there is only about five hours of actual sunlight here before it starts to get dark again” he stated
I let out a sigh and plopped back down frustrated “ can’t we just sleep one more day my face burns and i hardly got any rest last night because of the discomfort” i mumbled sleepily
he looked at me and his face softened a bit and i knew he was giving in “ fine you win but i'm going to get up and make a fire and find some food then-”
he started to get up but i pulled him back down and tightened my grip “ you . are not going anywhere because your comfy and i said so .. . so get used to it. “
he blew out a frustrated sigh “ Kellina . . . i need to get something for those scratches tum tum berry juice is toxic and he was covered in it so i know its why your face burns”
i heard him but i was already drifting off to sleep
Faelen’s POV
She ignored my last words to her immediately falling asleep on my chest hugging me tightly and i knew she wouldn’t let me go anytime soon so using the power of the guardians i made a fireball and hurled it at the brush pile that i had gathered earlier and luckily i had already found some leaves within arms reach that acted as a natural antibiotic
so gently moving my arm from around her i ground up the leaves then again used my power to make water and applied it to the leaf mixture and began to place it over her scratches being careful not to touch them as they were even redder and angrier looking then they had been the day before
the mixture soon started to turn purple as the toxins from the berries began to leave the wounds and i breathed a sigh of relief that she would be okay at least for another night
she winced slightly as a breeze kicked up and she started to shiver so i layed her down on the other side of me being careful not to wake her and she smiled in her sleep and cuddled into me again
i found myself smiling at her unconsciously and mentally reprimanded myself i'm mean yeash i’ve know the girl for what . . like five days ? i really shouldn’t get attached to her once i give her to the council i'll likely not see her anymore seeing as i will have to cross the gate again and go back to my "lucky-we-didn't-banish-you-more" job in the woods, man . . . being punished sucks. . . .
once the council has her, since she was able to cross the gate, she will be trained in her powers which im sure that she isn’t even aware of yet then she will literally have the entire place’s fate in her hands
because the only person who was able to call upon the gate and cross between our world and the woods and the world beyond that has been dead for the last 150 years and that was Queen Willow gate keeper and fate designer, master of the wisps. . . . . . and right now . . .i'm under a tree, outside the village limits cuddling the future heir
Oh boy am I in trouble.
