"So... Why are you here?"

I asked to the person... Should I even call her person or an Atlantean..? I'm not sure..
But after confirming that she's an Atlantean, or more like she confessed it herself. I continued to dig deeper but with caution.

"I'm here because.... I wanted to live with the humans!", she replied with joy.

"With... The humans?"

"Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it right?"

"I mean.. You're not actually living with them, you're just like... Trespassing... Their property...?"

"Why do you sound so unsure?"

"Well, this is the first time that I met someone like you and I'm like.. Being careful on my choice of words."

That's partly true. However, my true motive is to know more about her, the Atlanteans and the lost city, Atlantis.

"You're not even scared that you saw me..?", she asked anxiously.

"Not really... Since you're like.. Mostly human."

"Eh? Am I?"

"Only your tail is what makes you an Atlantean and your entire body is much more of a human, like me."

"Eh? So does that mean that I can really live with humans!?"

"Not specifically..."

"What do you mean...?"

I didn't want to crush her dreams, but I also don't want her to go away if I tell her that she's not allowed. She's my only piece of evidence that I cannot let go. She's worth a gem.

"Even though you have a human body, if they see your tail or something else on you.. Then they'll see you as a.... Monster."

Her face went from joy to sadness but it wasn't a sadness that can make her cry. It was a sadness that had an expression of realization and understanding.

"I see.. Well that's already expected.."

Our atmosphere went awkward but I didn't want to stop there. And I also don't want to rush things out because she might notice my true motive..
So I have to be careful on my choice of words just like what I told her earlier but on a different reason.

"By the way.. How does the TV even turn on? Like, is there even electricity in here?"

"Oh that? I just connected some sort of wire on that nearby electric thingy.", she said as she pointed to an electric box that was somehow on this deep sewer.

"They have that here...?"

"Yeah! It actually still runs since it turned on my TV and game box!"

"Game box?", I asked as I looked at her.

"Look.", she said as she showed her Game Console that was beside the TV.

The Game Console wasn't old nor new, it was at a great condition but somehow found by Gura on the dumpster.

'I guess some family spoiled their children with the latest huh..', I thought to myself.

"What do you think? I called it PS4 since it's what it says on the box..", she said as she inspected the console.

"You're right, it is a PS4. It lets you play games by inserting a disc inside or by downloading a game using the internet."

"Internet? What's that? Is that a game as well!?"

"It's.... A yes and no...? Internet is hard to explain but to keep it short. Let's just say that the internet let's you explore to a whole new platforms of entertainment like games."

"So it is a game!"

"Whatever you say..", I said as I let out a sigh.

"Can you give me an internet??", she asked with full of excitement as her tail waggled from left to right.

"I can't..."

"Why..?"

"Because... It requires you to go outside..."

That was also partly true. In order for her to have an internet in the sewers. We must do some work outside and inside. And also, I bet the connection in the sewers sucks..

"I see..", she said as she made that expression again.

Must be tough for her to be an Atlantean when you finally discover things about humans.

Humans are indeed interesting. They survived, ruled and evolve through out the time. And the results of their evolutions were the good and bad for everything.
But I guess this girl had only seen the good side of the humans since she's excited to learn more about them, but she's also aware of what the humans might do to her if they see her in person.
She might not be able to handle the reactions of the humans towards her.

However, I'm able to communicate with her normally, because this isn't the first time that I've met a creature that's not human..

Our atmosphere went silent and awkward again. Although she's sad, she also understands the limits of her own nature. I guess she's well-mannered at the very least.

"Can I ask you something?", I asked to Gura.

"Sure, go ahead."

"How'd you end up in this situation?"

"What do you mean?"

"You call yourself an Atlantean yet you're currently not in Atlantis. You also said something earlier that a King gave you freedom..? And some Atlanteans want you back...?"

After I asked those questions which I've been wanting to ask. She let out a sigh and said..

"I guess there's no escaping curiosity huh.."

She stood up and grabbed her Trident, then sat back down and layed her Trident on the ground.

"Atlantis is my home.. I cannot change that fact, however I also want to explore the human world. And due to my curiosity and persistence, I did something that broke the law and got me into prison.."

"I see.. How'd you get free?"

"I went through trials that the King made for me.. I don't know why but I was the only prisoner that have been given a chance to have freedom."

I see.. So the Atlantis is in fact real. But her story seems interesting and I want to hear more about it in detail..

"Can you tell me your story, Gura?", I asked.

She went silent and didn't answer my question for a few seconds. After some time, she broke the silence by asking..

"Can I trust you?", she asked anxiously.

I can't assure that I can be trusted by her. And I don't want to bear the guilt if I ever let her down.. But I have no choice.
In order to know more about her, I must make a sacrifice.

"Yes. You can trust me.."

"Okay then..."

She firmed the position of her body as if she's getting ready to give me a really long story.
I hope it's not, since I still got work tomorrow..

"I'm going to tell you, the story of my life."

It seems like she's about to tell a long story, so I opened up my ears and got my brain ready for some analyzing and I also fixed my posture. I also thought to myself that...

'I wish I had a popcorn right now.'
