"Welcome!" You smiled at your daily regular costumer, James. He came by your job daily, which wasn't your ideal job but it was a nice dainty little hometown cafe in Maine, ran by your grandparents. "Heh, good morning." James smiled sheepishly as he sat down at the dinner bar. "The usual?" You asked as you began to poor him a black cup of coffee. "You already know it." He responded and rested his chin upon his hand, watching you. "Someone seems sleepy today." You teased as you gently set the cup of coffee down in front of him.

"I got up early to visit my wife at the cemetery but the rain had other plans for me" He covered his mouth as he yawned. You felt sympathy for him as he often mentioned his late wife, it was obvious he wasn't over her yet. You wanted the kind of love that he had for her. But for now, pretending in your head that he was yours would have to do.

"Aww, my sleepy head." You replied and caught a glimpse of James face beginning to blush. After a moment of silence James cleared his throat and muttered an "um" before pausing for a moment again. "I was wondering if you'd like to .. maybe go out sometime? For coffee or a movie or something? If not I totally understand I hope this wasn't weird-" he trailed off avoiding eye contact before you interrupted.

"James. I'd love to go out with you. Just give me a day and time and I'm yours." You smiled and leaned over the counter, propping your elbows up on top of it. "Tomorrow?" James raised his eyebrow and looked at you eagerly awaiting your response. "Of course." You booped his nose and smiled. "Meet you then." James nervously handed you the money for the coffee without even taking a sip of it and sat up and rushed out of the restaurant.

"Oh James." You murmured to yourself as you watched him nearly trip on his way out. You sighed contentedly as your lips formed into a smile. "Tomorrow."
