Chapter-2: Comfort

"Hey, it's okay... Lay back down, I will get you painkillers and order breakfast" I said as I stood up.

Beam lays down and says "what the fuck are you doing here"

"Well, you did ask me to stay and won't leave my hand" I smirked as I got the water. "Here, drink," I said as I offered painkillers and water.

"Thank you, and sorry if I gave you trouble, that's why I said don't come," he said after drinking the painkiller.

"It's alright, I came here because I wanted to be with you and help you. What do you want to eat?" I asked him. I know he was heartbroken so I can't do anything, for now, I will just be a good friend to him. That's all I can do.

"Anything is fine... I will just rest for a while" beam said as he lay down. His head might be hurting badly.

"Okay rest till the food comes I will order you some soup," I said to him as I sat on the sofa to order some food.

After I was done ordering, I looked up and saw Beam was sleeping soundly. I stood up and started cleaning his room which is a mess right now. Threw away all the beer bottles, packets, and wrappers of snacks, etc. and after I was done I went to the bathroom to freshen up.

After I freshen up, the delivery guy came. So I woke Beam up.

"Beam, wake up. The Food is here, go freshen up and we will eat." I said to him,

He said a small okay and slowly stood up and went to the bathroom.

I saw a sad smile on his face. I knew what he was thinking, and I didn't want him to be sad over it. I wanted him to be happy, no matter what I would make him happy. If I can't be his lover I will be his best friend and help him through this and make him happy.

It hurts to think that I can't be his lover, but his happiness is my happiness. I can't bear to see him sad.

So I am determined to make him happy.

I served the food on the table. Just when I was about to be done, Beam came out of the bathroom looking fresh.

"Come sit. I will serve you some soup," I said as I sat on the other side of the table.

"Thank you, Pha, for helping me. I am sorry for the trouble, you know you don't have to do all this, I will be fine in a few days. I know I am being an emotional bitch right now, this will go away, this is nothing ." beam said as he looked down at the soup, stirring it slowly. I know he is hurt. But why does he think his feelings are invalid? I care about him, and I don't want him to say things like this about himself.

"Beam, listen to me carefully, I am here because I want to spend time with you, and I want to take care of you, and this is nothing, your emotions are valid and you are sad. Just share your worries with us, your friends, so that we can help you. I know you can't talk to kit about it, but you can talk to me and Forth about it. We will help you. Right now I am here to listen to you and to make you happy. I don't want you to be sad ever again. Okay?" I said to him while looking into his eyes. I want him to know that I am sincere about my words and I mean them by heart.

He nodded while still looking down and said "thank you, I am thankful to have a friend like you."

The friend word stinks, but that's where I am right now. I can't help it.

"Okay let's eat. I will give you notes for the last class you missed," I said as I started eating.

Beam also started eating after saying a thank you.

We ate and then put away the dishes and talked about classes for the rest of the morning.

"Do you want to go to the new Korean restaurant you wanted to try for lunch?" I asked him after we were done.

"Going out. I-" he hesitated.

"Just 2 of us," I said to him,

"But isn't that far? it's near the beach," he asked.

"Let's get ready then, I will drive us there, we can eat. And we can go to the beach too. We can book a cottage there which Forth always books and then we just hang out there. Let's have a fun day. Just two of us" I said to him hoping that he will say yes.

"Really? Can we go to the beach? Okay, I am ready for that!" He stood up with a smile to pack his bag. That's the most genuine smile I've seen this whole day. I am happy that I made him smile.

"Pha go get your stuff!"

"Okay okay, I will come back to pick you up in half an hour okay? Be ready by then, bye!" I said as I stood up and went to my dorm.

I went down to the lobby and saw Kit with Ming there. "Hey, guys!" I said.

"Hey Pha, how is Beam?" Kit asked worriedly and Ming waved at me.

"He is going to be fine, I am taking him to eat out," I said.

"Okay. That's great! Do you want me to come with you guys?" he asked.

" No, it's fine, we will go out on our own for now. You have lunch with Ming. I will take care of him." I replied.

"If you say so. Okay by Pha" Kit said as he sat on Ming's bike, and MIng drove off.

I got in my car and drove to my dorm to pack my stuff.
