Three days.
It had been two complete days since Yn slipped into her slumber. With each passing moment, dense fear settled deeper into everyone's heart.
Right after he met his friend, Baekhyun had informed everyone about the articles he had in possession. Regina looked over the locket and the diary. She tried to feel the presence of magic. Fortunately for all, she caught a faint tingling sensation brimming on her fingertips. However, that wasn't enough. She needed something stronger. She even examined the keys but they bore nothing, not even what she felt in the diary.
Taking the king's leave, she immediately dived into her work and tried to find the reason behind the last of Lily's magic she had sensed. According to what Lily wrote, the magic with the logs were supposed to vanish away once the journal was entirely read.
On the other hand, The royal residence had once again found its inhabitants. The royalty with the families of the courtiers stayed in the castle. Resident gaurds were stationed at each corner of the enormous royal abode. For once, it felt as if the palace went back in the time of autocracy.
Due to Taehyung's persistent decision, YN was not moved out of his chambers. He still hadn't coped up with the situation yet. The terrifying scene and Yoon Ji's words kept swirling inside his head. The suffocation brought with it choked him.
For the past few days, he had been doing nothing but scanning every nook and cranny of the entire residence in search of the vault. The very vault which pulled them in this disaster. For Yn's memories were vague, the actual position of the vault in the palace was undetermined.
The warnings in the inked sheets frightened him. On the verge of losing his mate forever, not once, but twice was enough to make him overcautious.
Kyung Hee too was broken. He too was devastated, but what frustrated him the most was that he could do nothing. Right now, there was nothing he could do to help his daughter. He could not save his beloved then and he can do nothing to save his daughter now. He felt worthless.
After listening to what Regina had to say, he walked his way to meet Yoon ha to ask her about the vault, but she kept mum. He wasn't sure whether it was because she didn't know or because she didn't want to. Whatever the reason was, he knew, he would get nothing out of her mouth.
He too tried to contribute his share by going through all the research Yn's mother had gathered regarding what the old foretold but none of them were enough.
With the last floor of the east wing of the castle, the search was complete. Disappointingly, with no success. However, the real Royal palace behind the castle was left untouched. It had been sealed for years since the tragedy.
Gathering the entire court and all the helping hands as well as the guards, the king, authoritatively, commanded the chief commander; his uncle, to break the royal seal.
People gasped and murmured, in shock. The royal palace was looked upon as an epitome of a bad omen. Abandoning the palace and sealing it was thought to be a wise decision. The palace was a graveyard of witches and vampires. The palace was a symbol of the first rebellion of the witches after centuries of contractual peace.
