"Do you like it here?" He asked, motioning around the house, before getting a cup of tea for himself.

"Yes, I do. It's so nice, yet its homey at the same time. I love it." I said truthfully.

"Then we will be sure to come back once all the danger blows over. Unfortunately, we have to leave tonight. Nik texted me saying they were on our trail." Kol said sadly.

"Where are we going?" I asked curiously, kind of sad to be leaving already, even if I knew we would be back.

"That would be a surprise, darling. Though you may want to put on some pants before we leave for the airport. As much as I love seeing you like that, I want it to be for my eyes only." He smirked at me. I punched him on the arm.

"At least I know I have a pair of pants in my bag. I think that may be the only article of clothing I have with me." I said looking down.

"Don't worry, darling. We will be sure to go shopping for clothes when we arrive. As much as you want." He said smiling happily. I was officially excited. A whole new wardrobe? That was a girl's dream!

"You say that now..." I said with a devilish grin.

"Come now, we need to get ready to go to the airport. The plane will be leaving in an hour." Kol said, picking me up without notice and flashing me upstairs, throwing me on the bed.

Half an hour later and we had arrived at the small airport in Dublin, Va. Not one I had ever heard of.

"I take it we aren't getting on a normal plane?" I asked as we pulled up to one of the hangars.

"Elena, you forget I am over a thousand years old. You tend to acquire a decent amount of wealth in that type of life span, darling." He said with a smug look on his face.

"So are you all independently rich, or do you put all your money together?" I asked. It was an honest question.

"We do own quite a few properties together, but our wealth is our own. To be honest, I have more than Elijah." He said excitedly, which brought me back to a certain topic from earlier.

"Speaking of Elijah, why are you so angry with him?" I asked, remembering how our visit with them went. His face went cold instantly.

"It's nothing you need to worry about, love." He said solemnly. I took his hand in mine.

"Kol, tell me, please? Don't shut me out." I said, trying to get him to open up. He sighed and looked away before speaking.

"On the other side, the first thing I was able to witness were my siblings reactions to my death. Nik saw it, and you saw his reaction. He was furious, plotting revenge, and he would have gotten it if he weren't trapped in your home, for which I am grateful for. Rebekah was upset for maybe an hour or two, then went along with the plan to find the cure like it was nothing. That hurt quite a bit. But Elijah, the one who always claims 'family above all' had no reaction at all. None. He didn't get angry, he didn't get upset. At least Rebekah cried. But you know what Elijah did? He ran into the arms of his lover- Katerina, like it meant nothing. That hurt worse than my own death." He was almost in tears. I squeezed his hand.

"Maybe that is how he dealt with it, by ignoring it, hoping it wasn't real. Some people are like that. I know I'm not, obviously. When I learned my brother was actually dead, I burned my house down with his body inside. But I think part of that was from being turned into an emotionless bitch by Damon through his stupid sire bond." I was starting to ramble, not really knowing what to say.

"He used a sire bond to make you turn off your humanity?" He asked incredulously. Oops. I guess he hadn't known that.

"Yes, but he was only trying to help."I tried to remedy the situation, but it only made it worse. His face got stone cold as he helped me out of the car. It was then that I noticed our plane. Or should I say private jet? The stairs were already down and it looked like they were waiting on us. He held my hand, taking our bags and leading me to the jet. The inside was just as luxurious as I imagined a private jet to be. The chairs were even embroidered with the letter 'M'. He motioned for me to sit on the couch and I did. He still hadn't said anything about Damon.

"You know, I hated him before, but now, I don't believe there is a word that expresses that kind of loathing. He should have broke the sire bond as soon as he realized it. If they ever do find us, my baseball bat is finding permanent residence in his chest."I could tell Kol was seething. It was understandable. Now that I wasn't sired anymore, I felt free. I could make my own choices. I wasn't attached to Damon anymore.

"Please, Kol, just don't kill them. That's all I ask." I begged. I know it was asking a lot, but I couldn't stand if either one of them died. He scoffed, but the look in his eyes meant that he would honor my request.

Soon the plane was in the air and I was nervous. I had never been on a plane before, and I had a death grip on the armrests.

"Darling, you're going to break my plane with that grip of yours. Even if the plane happened to crash, we would still be alive. Relax, close your eyes." Kol whispered in my ear while he tucked a piece of hair away. He pried my hand off the armrest and intertwined our fingers. I felt a tingling sensation come through my his hand into mine and I immediately relaxed. I didn't know what he was doing to me, but I was grateful. Sure enough, I was asleep within minutes.
