CHAPTER - 7
- TRYING TO ESCAPE -

A R U S H I

I ran . Ran . And ran .

My feets were paining . My sprained ankle's pain was getting more and more worst . My bag was sliding down as I ran . I pulled it and held its handles tightly . My legs were wishing me to stop but I never . There footsteps and vehicle sounds was getting nearer time to time .

I ran without looking back .

The streets wasn't ending . I was running since more than 30 minutes but the way wasn't ending . My legs were feeling like they will drop anytime soon . A sob escaped my lips . The tear stains felt cold as the cool breeze of night kept hitting my face .

A dark forest kinda area came in view . I peeped through my shoulder and found the cars weren't much far than me . I scurried inside that forest type area . The rustling sounds of leaves crushing under my feet were coming my ears . I crashed with a tree ,"ahh..!" I cried out in pain when a broken bark of tree sharply touched my skin ,it left a cut .

I found it a big tree "I should hide behind it !" I whispered to myself, as I heard more footsteps. I hid behind the tree . My heart was racing . My body was feeling terrible . When I realised I was breathing heavily , I squeezed hard my nose between my thumb and forefinger . I closed my mouth too behind my palm .

"Boss , we got her !" a voice boomed that's when I was yanked by my shoulder . I cried while pleading ,"No , no please leave me !" the guard didn't replied only kept the stern look . Dad was coming to me holding gun in his hand . I tried to pull my hand away but his grip only became more tighter .

I smoothly slid my bag and smashed it on his face ,hard . He fell down holding his face. Without wasting a single second ,I stumbled then hurtled .

I saw lights infront of me . I stopped and observed it . Just what I was afraid of ?! Dad's members were running to me . I turned around , I found I had no way to escape . I was surrounded by all the people of dad . I moved backward to get hit by something hard .

Dad stomped to me and grabbed me by my hair ,"How dare you ? How dare you attempt this act ? You needs to be taught a lesson !" he screeched and dragged me to car .

The room was silent . All were gathered in the hall , all were glaring me and some were giving me disgusting looks . "Why did you pulled this stunt ?" dad asked calmly ,believe me or not but he is like a calm before a storm . I gulped audibly, "You will speak or should I open your mouth ?" dad yelled making me jump . "I-I d-dont w-wan-want to get married !" I stuttered .

"Oh she did this because she wanted to cut our nose infront of the society ? I told you Som , I told you ,this girl is nothing but a disgrace to this family !" grandma spoke dramatically . I felt a tight slap on my left cheek , mom held my hair in her fist and pulled it ,"Why you did this,huh? Why you always try to drag our family's reputation into mud ? Why ?Why can't you let us live peacefully for once ?" she once again slapped me .

Bhai pushed me away ,"mom stop it ! She is telling she had a reason ,why she tried to run away ?! Why you people can't understand ?" bhai argued . "Abhiman , you better stay away from all this ! She did mistake ,right ? She will get her punishment !" dad proclaimed .

"Don't you dare to do that ," bhai threatened dad . Dad spoke with a challenging look ,"She will be locked in her room until the boy's family arrive !", "No , she won't!" bhai instantly told clenching his jaw . "If you argued much then I swear ,she won't get her food for 24 hours ," dad exclaimed .

"Nah..! I don't want food , I don't want anything but please , I don't want to marry , deny them please . Deny them for this proposal !" I requested but instead of replying , dad dragged me to my room . He threw me inside and locked the door . I banged on the door many time but no one opened it . I heard yelling sounds from downstairs but nothing to do .

I sat on my bed . Pulling my legs near my chest , I hid my face and cried.

A U T H O R

Somewhere in an elegant mansion .

He caressed the picture on his phone screen ,"So beautiful ! So innocent !" he whispered adoring it . "Oye..! Will you come for dinner or would be gawking your soon to be wife only ?" a sweet voice came . He lifted his head and saw his sister standing near his bed , her hands were resting on the either side of her waist .

He narrowed his eyes ,"Don't you think ,you are talking a lot now a days ?" he asked her . She rolled her eyes"Whatever ! Mom is calling you for dinner so come !" she informed him and turned to leave . She suddenly stopped and looked at him who was again staring at the picture ,"and dude ! Please don't bring your soon to be lady at dinning area , please !"

He scoffed and locked his phone before leaving the room . He entered in a huge dinning room . He joined his family for dinner. As following there rules of their mansion, they had their food in silence ,no one made a single noise as they know if they did then it won't end in a good way .

After finishing their dinner . The maid carefully cleaned the dinning area . The family retired themselves to the hall for some important discussion .

The head of the family, the dad of that man started ,"Tomorrow is a great day for our family . I do not want any hurdle in between tomorrow's meeting , am I understand ?" he notified to the guards those who were present there . They all nodded their head and spoke in unison ,"Yes boss !"

"You may leave now !" the head ordered them . The bowed and left the hall , marching . "Good night everyone !" they wished each other and went to their respective room .
