(F) Iwaizumi Hajime x Oikawa Tooru

[This is the second part to the oneshot I wrote for my friend, since they reached over 600 followers on Instagram. I hope you enjoy it!]


"Iwaizumi?! Iwaizumi, are you out there?" Oikawa shouted out into the sea from the dock. Oikawa's father had went to town to sell some of the fish the two of them had caught. As soon as his father left, Oikawa raced down to the dock and started calling out for his fishy friend. 

"Iwaizumi!" A groan was heard as a head soon emerged from below the water. "Ya know, you're making me regret telling you my name." Iwaizumi shook his head, water flying from his hair. "You're here! Were you ignoring me?" Iwaizumi groaned again, rolling his eyes. "It's hard to ignore someone when I can hear them yelling from the bottom of the ocean!"

Oikawa frowned, causing a guilty glint in Iwaizumi's eyes. Clearing his voice, trying to sound as monotone as possible, Iwaizumi spoke before Oikawa's frown made him feel any worse. "But...I'm up here now, so what did you want?" Seeing that Iwaizumi was staying, Oikawa's smile returned as he redirected his gaze to the creature in the water.

"I wanted to see how your lip was healing. Does it feel better?" Iwaizumi nodded his head, showing a small scar on his lip. "Wow, that healed quickly! My wounds usually take a while to heal!" Iwaizumi chuckled, crossing his arms across his chest. "I guess that just means my body is better than yours!" Oikawa laughed at Iwaizumi's cocky statement, the two of them smiling.

Once he stopped laughing, Iwaizumi spoke again. "Thank you...for um helping me yesterday." Oikawa smiled, rubbing the back of his head. "Awww, you don't have to thank me! Helping you was just the nice thing to do!" Iwaizumi's lips twitched into a smile, only for that smile to fade as he listened to a question Oikawa asked.

"Why did you leave yesterday? I talked to my dad and when I turned around you were gone. You...you didn't even say goodbye..." Iwaizumi's eyes darted away from Oikawa's face, guilt filling his chest. The pain in Oikawa's voice made Iwaizumi's heart ache, even though he knew that he had to leave.

"Your dad showed up, that's why I had to leave. My dad always tells me that I'm not supposed to let the land dwellers see me. If they do, if they know we still exist, bad things will happen." Oikawa tilted his head, not completely understanding Iwaizumi's reasoning. "But you came to talk to me! And plus, my dad is super nice! I promise he won't hurt you guys!"

Sighing, Iwaizumi looked back at Oikawa. "I came to talk to you because I have to tell you something! I can't keep coming to the surface. I don't want bad things to happen to my mom and dad, so I can't keep coming to the surface!" Tears started to form in Iwaizumi's eyes as he stared at Oikawa. "But, I promised! I promise nothing bad will-"

Before Oikawa finished his sentence, a feminine voice called out from under the water. "Hajime! Hajime, where are you!?" Two heads appeared from under the water, both of them looking similar to Iwaizumi. As soon as they spotted Iwaizumi near the dock, they swam over to him. "Hajime! There you are!" The female pulled her son into her arms.

The father looked at his son, gently ruffling his hair. A worried smile was on his face. That is, until he spotted Oikawa sitting on the dock. The father scooped both Iwaizumi and his mother in his arms, holding them away from the dock. The father looked down at his son, fury in his eyes. "Hajime, is this where you went!? You went to go talk to a land dweller!? What have we told you!?"

Iwaizumi looked away from his father, shuddering at his deep voice. The mother held onto her son tightly, fear rattling over her entire body. The father glared at Oikawa, baring his teeth and growling. "What have you done to my son." The deep voice produced an echo, making Oikawa shudder in absolute terror. ~ ♥
