"Emotions...something so complex. Ya know, it seems like no matter how much I try, I can't stop this feeling. I feel like I'm in some old romance movie, that's how cliche this is. I have a crush on my best friend. Yes, I know that I'm setting myself up. One of us will get hurt in the end, it's just how these things play out. But unfortunately, I've already fallen and there's no getting up." ~ Oikawa Tooru

"Iwa-Chan! Good morning!" Oikawa approached Iwaizumi, unaware of the other student he was talking to. Once he caught view of her, he was taken aback by her beauty. "Hey Kawa. You seem to be in a good mood, any specific reason?" Smiling, Oikawa nodded. "Yeah, but that can wait. You must be new, since I haven't seen you around." The girl offered a smile, the ceiling light causing a glint in her teeth.
"Yeah, I'm Sara. I'm a foreign exchange student here, and Hajime here was offering to show me around." 'Hajime? How are they already on a first name basis if she just met him?' Oikawa had a thousand thoughts running through his head, but he managed to brush them all away. "Oh, well take care of our new student Iwa. I'll see you in class, 'kay?" Iwaizumi nodded, returning his attention to the newcomer. Oikawa couldn't point it out, but he had some kind of feeling about her being close to Iwa that fast. But what does it matter? It's not like anything will happen, right?
As the day passed by, all Oikawa ever saw was Iwaizumi and Sara. Even at lunch, the two of them ate out in the courtyard together. For some reason, Iwaizumi didn't invite Oikawa. But maybe Sara is just shy around new people, so Iwa just ate lunch with her alone. Oikawa couldn't stay focused, his mind racing with endless possibilities. On the way to the gym, he decided to confide in Hanamaki, hoping that he can help.
"I just don't know Makki, doesn't it seem weird? She just got here and already is calling Iwa by his first name. And they ate lunch together alone!" Hanamaki looked Oikawa up and down, his eyebrows furrowing. "Personally, I think you should worry about telling Iwaizumi that you like him first. And regarding Sara, you have nothing to worry about. You and Iwaizumi go way back, so everything will be fine. And he's probably just being a bit more friendly to her, since she is brand new." Oikawa nodded. Makki was probably right; he usually is after all.
After talking to Hanamaki, Oikawa was finally able to calm his mind and control his thoughts. That was, until he walked into the gym. It truly was a sight to behold, Sara in the gym with Iwaizumi, running her hands up and down his body. Hanamaki leaned to Oikawa, suggesting that the two of them just skip practice for today. Of course, Oikawa declined, trying his best to shake it off.
For Oikawa, practice went terribly. He couldn't concentrate on anything; well, except for Sara and Iwaizumi's newly found relationship. Oikawa was clinging onto the hope that Iwa was just being a bit friendly, but he knew it was highly unlikely. This was all confirmed when he left out the gym doors. There they were, hand in hand as Iwaizumi asked a question that Oikawa had hoped he'd ask for years. Only, in his fantasies, Iwaizumi was asking him and not a new student from abroad.
"I know this is a bit sudden, but you seem nice, and I have taken a bit of a liking to you. Since you're new here, maybe I can take you out and show you around the area?" Iwaizumi's smiled glowed as Sara accepted his invitation. "Iwa? Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt. I'll be on my way." Tears formed in Oikawa's eyes as he walked past the two. "Oikawa! Wait, why're you crying?" Still holding Sara's hand, Iwaizumi watched his friend run off.
