"Y/n!"

"HUH?!" you screamed, shooting right out of your sleep and into a sitting position. Your heart was beating against your ribcage as if it were a prisoner trying to escape, your breath ragged.

Looking up you saw Sebastian staring sternly at you. "Goddammit Sebastian there are better ways to wake someone up!" you scowled and grabbed your pillow, throwing it at the butler but to no surprise he caught it with one hand and put his hands on his hips, pillow still in hand, staring down at you.

"You are getting too lax, hurry into the kitchen for your orders. Not a hair out of place am I understood? I'll give you ten- no," he smirked, "five minutes."

"You're joking," you said.

"You of all people should know whether or not I'm joking," he tucked the pillow behind your back.

"Four minutes left," he said smugly, leaving the room. You grabbed the pillow from behind you and screamed into it. You knew this day would come soon, where he drew the line between work and his feelings, especially when Corbin no longer needs as much attention. No more sleeping in for you. Getting up quickly, you didn't even bother stretching, tossing on your corset and your uniform you buttoned it up while wiggling your feet into your boots. Risking it all by not looking in the mirror, you grabbed your bonnet and tied your hair up as tightly as you could while running towards the kitchen. Smoothing your hair you entered the kitchen to everyone moving off to their respective duties.

Sebastian turned around and you sighed. You were late... of course.

"I know, I'm late. Library?" you said expecting your normal start to the day room to clean.

"No, today you'll start with the cellar," he handed you a decanting cradle and a list.

"You're jo-" you stopped yourself, looking at his raised eyebrow. Of course he wasn't joking. "Yes sir."

You trekked downstairs to the cellar. Barrels and bottles of wine stared at you in the cold dark room. You squinted at the list, five separate wines read back at you. The young lord doesn't drink much, why did so much wine need decanting?

"Port, Madeira, Marsala, Malmsey, and Sherry," you muttered looking around. Port was a commonly used wine on the bottom on the first shelf. You popped off the cork and placed it in the decanter. Stealing a candle from the candelabra bracket you held it in place while slowly tipping the wine into a crystal serving wine bottle leaving only the sediment in the bottle. It was slow and tedious taking nearly an hour for one bottle. You had zero patience for this, and with four more bottles to first find then decanter you grew agitated.

Madeira and Malmsey wine were next to each other on the other end.

As expected. You were too short to get the last two. It was too risky to reach for the one that was closest to you. It and so many others could slip if you attempted to jump and get it. That would come out of your pay and you'd receive nothing for at least a year. There was no way you could afford for that to happen.

You opened the cellar door and went upstairs to get a chair or ladder to stand on whichever was closest. Grabbing the first chair you saw in the kitchen you headed back downstairs but heard an explosion coming from the other kitchen.

'Good lord what now...'

A second later you heard a crash and Mey-rin scream. Sighing you went to investigate the mess you were sure to be stuck with when Sebastian finishes yelling.

And speak of the devil quite literally, he appeared beside you. "Have you finished with the wine already?"

"No, I'm too short to reach the last two so I got a chair and then heard that mess going on."

"Finish quickly we have guests coming," he said rolling up his sleeves getting ready to clean whatever mess was in there. He looked like he wanted to laugh at you for not being able to reach.

"We do?"

"If you were on time this morning you would've known."

"Yes yes rub it in my face, I know. I'll finish quickly."

"And when you're done see to the dining room."

"Yes sir," you said. He's purposely not letting you do the library, knowing that's where you take joy in cleaning because of all the fantasies you could emerge yourself in. That's your punishment for being late.

After finishing the wine, you polished the dining table changed the tablecloth and set the flowers for the centerpiece. Soon it was time for your dinner, the clock read minutes to six, so you untied your apron and headed to the kitchen.

"Sebastian wants you to serve the dining hall," Mey-rin came in the kitchen saying.

"I was just there, when did the guests arrive?" You furrowed your eyebrows.

"Only about five minutes ago. They're important guests, he doesn't want me to spill the wine."

"You mean again?" you both laughed quietly remembering the time she spilled the wine all over the table cloth while you walked into the dining room.

"SURPRISE!"

"Wha-"

"Happy Birthday Y/n!" Lady Elizabeth shouted. The lights were dimmed but came to life as soon as you stepped in. Mey-rin grinning, pushing your frozen figure in.

Mr. Lau, Ran-Mao, Lady Elizabeth, Paula, Prince Soma, Agni, Lady Sullivan and Wolfram were all there standing in front the table. All smiles.

"Ho- how?"

You never told anyone your birthday, you yourself forgot about it never seeing the need to celebrate. Tears welled up in your eyes and you felt your insides twisting as you struggled not to let your tears fall. There was only one person who could've done this. Sebastian was behind the young lord as always, smiling at you.

"It wouldn't be a birthday without a cake now would it?" Bard announced himself before coming through the door with a cake on the serving cart. You never wanted to cry and throw up at the same time from happiness but that's how you felt.

"Oo! Sebastian! Like we planned!" Lady Elizabeth clapped her hands together. You looked at him confused, he went all out, even having the Lady Elizabeth to help. Or maybe she insisted when she found out what was going on.

"It's your birthday my dear,

Hold her by one more year,

This special day you turn __,

May you live out your dream~"

Sebastian singing? Was there anything he couldn't do? Voice like velvet.

"Go ahead, make a wish," he whispered gently in your ear.

You closed your eyes, tears finally falling down your cheeks and blew out your candles. Everyone cheered, wishing you more happy birthdays.

"Y/n!!!" Lady Sullivan called you over, she was playing with Corbin. "He's growing so fast! But he's so cute!!"

"Thank you my lady, I think he remembers your face," you laughed. She did deliver him after all.

"You had no idea did you," Sebastian came up behind you smirking.

"Who did you even visit to find this out?"

"I have my ways," he put a fingers to his lips.

"You don't normally stay for celebrations," you raised your eyebrow at him.

"Now what kind of husband would I be to leave you alone on your birthday?"

"Mm I don't know? You should've asked me that a few hours ago. Might've gotten an answer."

"I'll make that up later kitten," he purred in your ear, winking.

You shivered in anticipation.

Warm light, the scent of wine, almost everyone who has impacted your life since starting your life there, your son, and the man who made all of this come true. Through all of that you knew for a fact, this was the best birthday you could ever ask for.
