  Y/n looked in the mirror as she did her hair and light makeup for the day and Zuko sat on her bed talking. "I'm sorry my father is like this Y/n. We both know we don't like each other like that."
  "It's fine koko. You can't help your father's choices. Besides, don't you like someone else anyways?"
  "Wha? Noooo."
  "Koko, your voice is doing that thing it does when you're trying to lie. Tell me, who do you like?" Y/n asked snoopily as she sat on her bed next to him. "Ooo I bet it's that girl from the Water tribe ain't it?" She teased.
  "S-Shut up!" He looked away trying to hide his now red face. Y/n laughed. "Don't worry Koko, I won't tell anyone." He huffed. "I know you won't, but still.. What if someone hears you?!"
  "Fine I'll stop. But I don't blame you, she is powerful and pretty." He glared at her, his face turning from red to pink before he changes the subject.
  "By the Way, Azula had mentioned that she wanted you to meet someone today. She said to meet her at the lava fountain in the middle of the courtyard."
  "Oh, alright. Walk you out?" She offered. He smiled, "Sure." The two friends walked to the front door before stepping out onto the porch.
  "I'll talk to you later?" She asked and he nodded."Yep. I'm sneaking out to help Aang train today so I'll talk to you later when we're both back."
  He smiled and the both of you fist bumped before you made your way to the fountain to see Azula, Ty Lee, and a black-haired girl standing there.
  "Y/n, hey!" Y/n smiled as she walked up to the three girls. "Hey Azula, Ty Lee." Y/n always thought Ty Lee was a sweet girl, she was confused on why she would choose to follow someone like Azula around. She seemed too sweet to even be part of the fire nation.
  Sure Y/n and Azula were considered 'friends' but Y/n could match Azula's bold energy so they at least somewhat got along. Not to mention that her best friend was none other than Zuko.
  "Hi Ty Lee." Y/n replied with a smile.
  "Anyways, Y/n I wanted you to meet our new friend Mai. Mai this is Y/n, the girl Ty Lee was ranting on about." Mai looked at Y/n, a faint blush appearing on her face.
  The two girls exchanged glances and hellos and began talking nearly immediately. They were talking to the point where they hadn't noticed Ty Lee and Azula had left them alone.
  Y/n was never too sure where she was sexuality wise, all she had known was that she was supposed to get married to who she only saw as a best friend.
  Mai and Y/n went on and on talking to and getting to know each other. Before they knew it, it was already late afternoon to early evening.

  She followed Y/n up to her bedroom where Zuko sat upon Y/n's bed waiting for her. Once Mai and Y/n walked in the bedroom both he and Mai froze. "You." They spat at each other.
  Y/n seemed confused as she looked between the two. "Y/n, why are you hanging out with her." Zuko questioned as he continuously glared daggers at Mai.
  "Uh, she my new friend. The girl Azula wanted me to meet." He growled at the fact that Azula had introduced Mai and Y/n, knowing they'd get along and knowing damm well that Zuko and Mai used to be a happy couple.
  "She always has it out for me, doesn't she." He muttered, though Y/n could clearly still understand it. "Zuko, what do you mean?" She asked as she sat next to her best friendon her bed.
  Mai stood with her arms crossed looking away and out the window. "Azula. She introduced you two knowing that you'd get along." Mai finished by cutting him off. "She knows that Zuko and I used to date." Y/n's eyes widened. "She has always had ut out for me, I have no idea why." Zuko growled.
  "I'm sorry guys, I had no idea.." Y/n frowned. "It's fine, I'll leave. I'll talk to you tomorrow Y/n." Zuko said as he got up and walked out of the room leaving Mai and Y/n alone.
  "I'm sorry Mai, I should have told you about him before bringing you all the way here." The look on Y/n's face saddened.
  "It's no worries Y/n.." Mai replied before pausing to close and lock the bedroom door. "I should have told you about me and him when were talking about relationships and such earlier." She sat on your bed next to you, replacing where Zuko had been sitting at.
  "But," she continued. "Relationship-wise, how do you feel about me doing this this?" She asked as she grabbed a hold of Y/n's face gently enough as to not hurt  her, but strong enough for Y/n to not be able to look away.
  The (h/c) could feel the heat rising in her lower area and her cheeks fluhsed a bright pink as Mai stared down into her eyes, as if searching her soul for any bit she could find that could aubmit to her.
  Even in her relationship with Zuko, Mai had been the dominant one, and this beautiful female was no different.
