Hi there!

Welcome to "book two" of the Light series. This can be read as a standalone, but there will be character reappearances from book one if you're into that.

Quick side note: should this be in the LGBT, Romance, or Fantasy category? I can't decide, so let me know what you think.

Anyways, back on track, this book is an LGBTQ+ remix of The Little Mermaid. Obviously, I don't own that, but because it was written ages ago, it's in the public domain.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is: this story is mine. It more closely resembles the Disney version, because let's face it, the other version from Hans Christian Andersen is a little dark and depressing.

At the end of this story, if you're curious, I'll post a brief summary of the differences between Disney's and Hans'.

Again, same rules as the last book. There are only nice comments allowed, constructive criticism is encouraged, no self-promos in the story (you can post on my message board instead), and no copying!

And, if you think you have better cover skills than I do, which is most likely true, you are welcome to try making a cover yourself.

The description in case you didn't read it (guilty as charged):

Long ago, sirens rose above the waves to live alongside humans. It was the only way for them to survive since the ocean waters became polluted. People used to believe that the sirens existed among them, and when the sirens started a coup against the royal family that failed, it led to a massive genocide. To this day, no sirens ever sing in public, fearing another round of persecution.

Unless they simply don't care.

Kayden has wanted to sing all of his life. But he can't. His family has had only one rule enforced above all others: No singing in public.

But what happens when he goes against his family's wishes, living his dream as a masked pop star with a killer voice and guitar. So killer, that he catches the attention of none other than Prince Liam?

Will he tell the truth and unveil what lies in Alleba's shadows? Or will he forever live a lie?

This is rated PG-13 for language, violence, a bit of steamy romance, and mentions of assault (hypnotism through siren voice is considered magical assault). Also, you'll notice Kayden has a slight swearing problem.
