Fifty-Five: Grudge

Laying on her stomach, she kept her head turned away from Darrick that laid beside her upon the pillow. His head taking up one half of the pillow while she laid fully on her stomach beside him on the corner, he simply sat on his phone watching videos. If she were to look at him, he'd look at her quickly out the corner of his eye to see if she finally wanted to talk. Snapping her eyes back, she wouldn't dare speak to him, she was no longer scared, that having faded quickly since he wasn't actually hurting her but now she found herself more angry then anything, how dare he use his size to force her to stay.

Crossing her arms beneath her head, she closed her eyes in hopes to block Darrick out completely. She could hear him breathing, was deep and slow. He was so large she could feel the power of his lungs with every breath. She was able to feel every movement, sense as he'd turn to look at her to see if she was gonna speak, then look back at his phone. His phone was loud, too loud sometimes, with every video he passed making her head throb. She wished she had the ability to grow and shrink, she'd strangle his phone out of his hand and break that thing.

While she was angry, she felt guilty and ashamed at herself for what had happened at Jamie's. The image of Darrick face when having seen Chris kissing her, mostly forced to kiss him on Chris's part. But she still couldn't help but feel guilty because of it. Could feel a weight in the pit of her heart. Darrick was upset and she was also herself, she knew that if she had told the truth maybe she'd feel better about all this. But how could she, that would've only made Darrick angrier. She couldn't shake the feeling of guilt from having only told half the truth. Darrick still didn't know Chris was her ex. But it didn't mean he had to hold her captive in his room for a night. It was selfish of him and she couldn't shake some of the nerves from earlier from when he'd been angry at her, feeling shy to speak to him or even look at him

Maybe they needed some time apart, maybe they were to entangled in this relationship to think about the consequences and reality of what was really happening. She was human, he was giant. It usually never worked.

She wasn't about to be in a relationship where Darrick used his size to force her to do what he wanted, that being to stay over at his house, make her scared or simply to give him a kiss. Who knew what that would lead to if he got way over his head.

Letting out a slow breath through her nose, she forced herself not to cry by squeezing her eyes to keep the tears from pooling. What if it was the right thing to break up, maybe it would be for the better for the both of them. Giants and humans don't date, that was commonly known that it was even shunned by many. Her family back home included, they didn't even speak to mum anymore because of it. Imagine if they knew Tess was also interested in a total different species.  Word had probably already gotten out, even Chris knew that she was with a giant, who else knew she was with Darrick

"Do you want anything to eat?.." Darrick spoke softly, sounding a little shy as he asked her since he obviously didn't know what to do now that she was actually here and clearly wasn't going to speak to him anytime soon. Tess didn't even bother to lift her head to look at him or answer his question. She shrugged her shoulders gently, his words from earlier ringing in her mind when he'd called her a child.

"Ok~" he sighed deeply, letting the silence grow between them for what felt like the longest minute ever before he grunted and rolled over. Tess's eyes snapped open as she felt the pillow they shared move beneath the weight of his head being lifted, then blushed as there was a soft pressure on her back, realising he was kissing her with his large lips, a quick kiss as if he were trying to apologise or comfort her. She rolled her eyes as he pulled back, pushing himself up to climb out of bed with his tree trunk sized arms. She eyed him, still on her stomach upon the pillow as she could only see his large legs walking as he headed to the door that separated his room from the rest of his house.
