Ever since Maddy was born has she constantly worried her older brothers.

Past curfew

Madeleine (16 years old)

I was usually pretty punctual, but for some reason today was just a mess. The day had already started out terrible. I overslept since I hadn't heard my alarm. When I woke up, I could turn on my phone, even though it had been in the charger all night.

Walking downstairs I was already in a terrible mood, and Will and Jay getting furious by seeing me still up, didn't make it any better.
  "Why aren't you in school?" Jay asked, his voice slightly angry. I slammed my phone in his hand.
  "I won't turn on so I didn't hear my alarm. I will be ready in a sec, but if one of you could drive me it would be great." I said trying to not sound to annoyed, by the whole situation.
  "Grab your stuff, then I will drive you." Will said, and I quickly ran up to get the rest of my stuff.

The drive was silent, but it gave me huge anxiety being late from school.
  "Are you coming home right after school?" Will asked once we were at the school.
  "No, I am going to the mall with Emma remember, and we are going to watch that new movie. You said you would pick me up after." I said to him, and he nodded.
  "Yeah of course I remember, I will pick you up just text me." He said.
  "I can't, remember." I said referring to the phone I currently didn't have. He just nodded, and I walked inside with the late slip Will had given me.

In history we had a pop-quiz which I was totally unprepared for, and probably failed by a lot. On top of everything I had forgotten to do my homework for English, but my teacher led me off with a warning.

By the time school was done, I was about ready to just sit down and cry. Everything kept getting worse. Fortunately, the hard part was over now. Now I just had to hang out with Emma for a bit. Of course, Emma was late, so I ended up waiting outside in the parking lot till almost all the cars were gone.

When she finally came her boyfriend was a few steps behind her, and now the reason why she was late was crystal clear.
  "I hope it is okay Michael is joining us." She said not even asking as she got into his car. I followed after and sat in the back, while they just talked in the front. They were way too touchy with each other and it was clear I was going to be the third wheel.

After we hang out for a bit Emma had to leave, something with her mom, so her boyfriend drove her home. I didn't have my phone so I couldn't call Will to pick me up early, and I had been looking really forward to watching this movie, so I decided to watch it on my own.

It was actually pretty good; it was the first positive thing about my day. And the last. I waited outside the movie theatre for 45 minutes, before I decided to just start walking home. I wasn't definitely going to be late, but they couldn't be mad at me, right? It was Will's fault he should have picked me up.

It started pouring down, and I was only wearing a thin jacket since I didn't plan on walking home. I realised that the 21st district was closer so I decided to walk there instead. Hopefully somebody there could call my brothers or just something.

I walked in and everything was very calm probably because it was almost 10 pm. As I walked in Adam, who was stood at Trudy's desk, immediately saw me and the same did Trudy.
  "Maddy?" Adam asked confused walking over to me guiding me towards the chairs in the corner, Trudy followed.
  "Can you please call my brother?" I said my voice trembling a bit.
  "Of course." Trudy said rushing back to her desk.

Trudy sends us worried glances as she dialled Jay's number. I started to notice that it was freezing cold.
  "You are shaking Maddy." Adam said and he took his jacket off and handed it to me. I took it and wrapped it around me trying to keep the little bit of warm I had left.
