I looked down apologetically as I approached her.

"How was your day at school?"

"Boring." Her gentle hand reached up and pats my head.

"Make sure to always finish what you start. Regret is not a burden I would ever wish upon you, my son."

"Yes, mother."

"Dear, leave him be. We have work to do." The man at the behind her spoke out before leading her to the door.

We stood on the other side of a desk as an older man was giving us our routes and list of names. In the corner of the room stood one of the lackeys from the owner of my building. He winked my direction making my skin crawl.

"You're name is Yuuto Maki correct?"

"Yes"

"I heard you actually pushed our Shizuo out of the path of a bullet. That either takes guts, or stupidity."

"Yes"

"For that I owe you a great deal. I heard from Mikes that you have an arrangement at my cousin's building."

"Sir?"

"Consider it an appreciation gift. From now on as long as you work here, we will be taking care of it."

I look at him in obvious shock only snapping out of it when Shizuo elbows me.

"Thank you sir!"

"Back to business."

My phone buzzed in my pocket as we stepped out into the street. I pulled it out to see a text from Kanra.

[How are you this beautiful day? :-)]

[Great, I just had a bunch of burden taken off my hands.]

[Awwwwww, did you break up with your girlfriend????]

[What?!]

[Don't worry! You'll always have me ;-)]

"Who you textin'?"

"Gah! Nothing!" I shove my phone down my pocket while he gives me a disbelieving look.

"Right... so can I ask you a question?" Shizuo's hand ruffled his hair as he kept walking ahead.

"I guess it depends on the question."

Shizuo sighed loudly before stopping and looking down at me directly. His eyes seemed a mixture of assurance and discomfort, almost making me laugh.

"My brother will be coming by in a few days from now, but I was asked by the boss to get something done and it might take me until late. I don't want him hanging around all night by himself, do you think..."

"Sure." Shizuo stopped abruptly when I interrupt him. I could see his confusion before he said anything.

"I don't mind watching out for him for awhile. My place isn't that big but you would probably feel better if we didn't go to your place right? After all, wasn't it the night before last when you sent that computer through your wall?"

"Heh, you read people faster than I ever will."

"I guess, what day is he coming out?"
