Interviews were routine for Kim Namjoon, known by his industry moniker as RM, or Rap Monster. He understood the nuances of the English language a bit better than the other six members of the band. Primarily he could extrapolate when an interviewer was sarcastic, arrogant, mean-spirited, and/or using sexual innuendo to undermine their friendship and hard work. Just because they were foreign to America didn't mean they were new to the game.

Some interviews were a bit more serious. Some a bit more fun. All of which depended on the interviewer and the agency they represented. He noticed a pattern of redundant questions with American interviewers though that annoyed him. He assumed the reasoning for this was the interviewers assumption the rest of the band didn't understand English as well.

This is when his short, tense attitude would surface resulting in him translating the questions to the band and letting them answer in Korean. Doing this allowed him to summarize their answers without rebuttal from the interviewer. It was at that moment that the interviewer and staff were reminded why Kim Namjoon was the leader of BTS. His dominant, calculated power moves were steps ahead and without reproach.

He was just that good. Or maybe Namjoon was just that protective.

As each interview shifted the boys noticed minor differences. Each film crew would set the background scene in accordance with the theme of the interview. When a black background went up, Namjoon knew it would be a bit more serious, still he'd made sure to keep it short. When a white background went up it was to be inspiring. When there was color they were allowed to show more personality. They also had scripts and topics they could and couldn't talk about no matter what they were asked.

Three of the interviews were held in the conference room. The other three were moved to their hotel room for more privacy. Though there was a thirty minute time frame for each interview, depending on the rapport with the interviewer, the guys could allot a little more time.
