Tactical Maneuvers

 Paige barely had the chance to dry herself before she was tackled by Blue the raptor giving off a faint cooing noise as she nuzzled into the human. Paige tried to stop the tears that still fell down her face, but she just wrapped her arms around the raptor's neck. The sobs wracked through her body as she tried to get her feelings under control. It was no use as the tears continued to fall, her body shaking with the emotions. Talon gave a faint hum from where he stood shaking the remains of the water off. Another noise escaped Blue as the raptor gave a small pull getting out of Paige's arms. Paige tried to get control of herself, her energy draining faster than she was drying.

A faint resounding noise came from the forest around them, the birds went quiet. Paige froze her eyes rising up towards the dark head of the tyrannosaurus rex as she loomed a handful of feet behind Blue. Another boom echoed from the rex as she bent her head down towards the fifteen year old, as the noise shook the ground. It still surprised her that the carnivore could make that noise without opening her jaws.

"I...I..." Paige mumbled as Rexy took another step forwards, the scars littering her body becoming obvious. The yellow eyes of the queen shimmered in the sunlight, another boom thundered through the forest shaking the birds from their perches.

"Hello." Paige whispered, her voice sounding strained.

A shout echoed from the direction of the water, and the rex raised his eyes upwards towards the ocean beyond. A low grumble escaped the massive carnivore as the two others mimicked.

"Alright." Paige whimpered as Talon lowered his head towards her. "Blue, where are the babies?" Paige asked, getting the raptors attention. Tears continued to stream down her face as she tried to calm the sob that wanted to just roll through her. A small chirp came from the raptor before it gazed up at the t-rex behind her.

"We can't stay here." Paige mumbled getting to her feet and following after the raptor as she guided her into the forest. They would come after her, and they wouldn't hesitate to kill those in their way. Talon trotted beside her the water still dripping down his body, before he cast another look in the direction of the water. She needed to do something. She couldn't just go in with the three of them, that was a suicide mission, she had to be smart about this.

"Talon." Paige called to the baryonyx as he lowered his head towards her, allowing her on his back.

"Lets go rally the troops." Paige stated as she pressed herself as close as she could to the carnivore's neck. Blue darted past them heading towards the lake, her steps almost silent besides the thundering of the rex's footfalls. Why was she following them?
