"I thought you guys were dead!" she shouts before the door closes.
She never wanted to say it like this but they were already building up a wall so she did what she thought was best. Blurt it out.
In life, they have come to terms with how fucked up their family was but they never thought that it would be like this. Both men stood frozen as the door slowly opened back as they came face to face again with their mother.
Yara couldn't help the sad feeling as she watched the life drain from their faces. Knowing she caused it made her feel unworthy of them both.
Seokjin wanted to say something but he was speechless. How could she think such a thing? Did she not want them? That's what went through his mind. As for Namjoon, he felt his heart being shattered slowly. Dead? He thought. Out of every scenario he ran through his head, this was not what he expected.
Deep down, both men knew what their father meant in their letters when he said he regrets his decision and he couldn't explain. This is why he gave her the right to disgrace him.
"I think it's better if we come inside and talk." Taehyung suggested and both men just nod, not sure how to respond right now.
As Yara and Taehyung walk in, all of them head towards the couches. Namjoon and Seokjin sat next to each other on the four seater facing Taehyung and Yara who sat opposite each other.
Yara realized her words drove them speechless and decided now was the best time to talk. Even though she might lose them, she explained her side and prayed that one day they will forgive her.
"I'm sure your father explained that our relationship didn't start off right. He was my best friend and yes I knew he loved me more than that but I just never felt the same. He didn't pressure me and did his best to keep it friendly." she starts off and they both just listen.
"Your grandfather on the other hand didn't like that his son was rejected so he did the best thing he could at that time. Arranged marriage. I was against it and your father was too because he didn't want it to be that way unless it was genuine but with my family financially struggling, I married him."
Namjoon and Seokjin were slowly regaining themselves as they listened. They were actually feeling sad hearing the pain lacing her voice.
"I told Young-ho that if we got married, I wouldn't sleep with him. Being the gentleman he was, he understood. He tried to persuade me, but I just couldn't feel anything. After awhile, being married for three years, I decided to accept what it is. So we slept together and I began to feel for him. I thought it was probably better this way than for us to be suffering in some dreadful situation." she says as her voice cracks.
Both of their heads shot up to look at her as she lowered her wiping her tears and it began to hit them as well.
"I got pregnant with Seokjin first and it was the best thing but when things didn't go his way with the business, he started to abuse me. It started off verbally until I lashed out on him and he literally fought me. I was bruised for days and barely walked. That day, whatever I had for him left and I became sad. I lost not only my husband but my best friend." she sniffed.
