Techno ran the through his hair, feeling the dull tugging sensation pull at his scalp. It was around 6 am, which was an entirely unreasonable time to get up, but he had promised to have breakfast with his family today, and it took 2 hours to get to the childhood house anyway, a result of growing up regionally. So here he stands in front of his bathroom mirror, bright lights making him squint as he combs his hair at 6:14 am.

The fortnightly breakfasts were a small tradition in the Gold family, as Tommy was so young Phil had still wanted Techno and Wilbur to still be part of his life despite the large age gap. It started when Techno moved away from home and Tommy had a small breakdown, which he would later deny, but it was a small reality check for the family, it reminded them how unstable they all were. How much they relied on each other, and so the breakfasts were started to keep them together despite everything.

Last night Phil texted him saying that they'd try to find and organise paperwork so it's easier on Puffy. Nothing too big, because there'd have to be a lot done on Puffy's end as well as child protection laws. Techno never thought he'd be so glad the child protection sector was so bad at their job, or that they didn't care, for some reason it felt important to be around the kid.

There was yet another problem that was being raised in his mind as he fastened his hair into a low ponytail, Tommy was at breakfast. Technoblade has seen the kid- Ranboo, react badly to loud cars driving past, and he couldn't be sure, but they seemed to have a sort of anxiety disorder, and he had no idea how the k- RANBOO would react to the overwhelming amount of noise. He stopped midway through looping the band around his hair to consider his options, he wouldn't be caught dead leaving such a young child in an apartment by themselves, and he most likely wouldn't be able to find or afford a babysitter at such short notice, but he could be putting Ranboo through another kind of danger if he reacted badly enough to Tommy's screeching and harassment.

It wasn't often that he consulted the voices for this sort of advice, but they were already starting a poll by themselves, and a debate was taking place in the background between some more opinionated voices. So far, the decision they had named 'gremlin child harasses the beloved child' was winning by 30%, which he took as a hint from them that it was the right choice. He jumped when he heard footsteps making their way around his apartment, he still wasn't used to it, hearing someone walk around that wasn't him.

He poked his head around the bathroom doorway, watching Ranboo walk around like they were in the cast of the walking dead. That's another thing the kid did, some kind of strange sleepwalking that included their eyes glossing over in a translucent purple film and walking around warbling in the strange language gently every so often. They had been doing this for the past 30 minutes and Techno had just decided that he should just let them be and make sure they didn't hurt themself. They would probably snap out of it eventually.

At least, he hoped they would snap out of it soon, they did have to make it to breakfast, which would include a 2-hour car journey, and Techno didn't know if he could handle trying to communicate with someone who is technically unconscious. This was another reason why he was (kind of just a little bit but mostly still not because it's 6 in the morning) glad he got up so early.

Technoblade was thankfully correct, about seven minutes later the stopped wandering and blinked around at the living room seemingly confused, making a little warbling noise as he did so. Techno felt a little self-pride at being right, then reverted to being stressed. The reason being that, as the voices were now pointing out, the kid hadn't changed clothes since techno picked him up at the grocery store, possibly longer depending on how long he'd sat in the store, it was a wonder they hadn't started to smell at this point. He knew if Phil knew how long Ranboo had worn the same clothes he was destined for a stern talking to, so he had to do something about that.
