Ningguang sat on the other end of the seat in the pub, holding a half-glass filled Margarita. She was left with Xiangling, Hu Tao, and Lumine-- who was asleep already while Amber, and Aether were still on the dance floor since the hour they arrived.

She smiled as she stared at the glass in her hand hoping that the contents would somehow vanish into thin air because she could feel her face becoming numb. She's not drunk, not yet. Maybe tipsy. She rolled her eyes as she put her glass on the table and looked up, only to catch a familiar gaze.

Beidou is staring. Again.

The feeling was too familiar and Ningguang would do nothing but stare back, like always.

This wasn't the first time, was it? It's definitely not the first time Ningguang had caught Beidou looking, and it wasn't the first time Ningguang stared back at her either.

Maybe because it had always been like that, both of them staring into each other's eyes, drowning as they both sunk deeper to the void, waiting to be pulled. Waiting to be saved. Waiting.

They shared a little smile, like the smile they always give whenever they catch each other's gaze. It was all too familiar.

When did this 'staring contest' started? Ningguang couldn't quite remember. She tore her gaze away from Beidou against her will because she felt a light buzz on her pocket. When she unlocked her phone, there was a message from Zhongli, one of her best friend and the one she trusts like an older brother.

Zhongli: It's almost 11pm. Should I be worried??

Ningguang let out a chuckle as she shook her head, 'As caring as always.' she thought. She typed out on her phone her reply to her friend.

Ningguang: Home soon, grandpa ;)

Zhongli replied almost immediately to her response

Zhongli: Call me grandpa again and you'll have to sleep outside

Zhongli: I'm about to leave, Childe is waiting for me outside, you have your keycard right?

Ningguang: Yes, thanks for looking out in my flat. Best guard ever!

Zhongli: Go get some sleep lady, anyway, good night m è imei

Ningguang's smile grew bigger but she didn't reply, she put her phone back in her pocket and turn to talk to Xiangling.

"Hey Xiang, I'll be heading to the comfort room mmkay?" Ningguang beamed

Xiangling nodded while looking at the dance floor, probably looking for the others.

Ningguang brought her purse as she headed towards the bathroom. Luckily, there weren't many people inside, she's just going to reapply her makeup anyways.

She was thinking of finding Amber since Amber gave her a ride, or if she could just book a cab so she wouldn't be spoiling the fun for the other girl. She disregarded her thoughts and started reapplying powder to her cheeks then to her chin. She was looking onto her own reflection until a person came in.

"Hey." Beidou said, her voice hoarse and low sending chills to Ningguang's spine.

Beidou smiled at her in their reflection then taking the spot beside Ningguang to wash her hands.

"Going home?" Beidou started

Ningguang finished putting the powder and fished for her lip gloss inside her purse.
