"Come out, come out, wherever you are!," I called around the slightly small kitchen used by the staff of the castle. Their giggles were coming from all directions of the room and it was very irritating. I brushed my hand over my flour covered apron, and glanced around the now messy kitchen, courtesy of the three little rugrats and grabbed a cloth from the cold water filled sink. I sloshed it around for a good moment, then I started to wipe down the flour and pancake mix covered areas, listening as their soft giggles filled the air. Their shuffling became even more pronounced once I got closer to the other side of the island,I smirked as I caught sight of the slightly opened pantry, I tossed the cloth carelessly to the counter and collapsed to my hands and knees a bit away from it.
Not really caring about my stockings and uniform getting dirty, I inched my way over to the pantry door on my hands and knees to poke my head into it, where I caught sight the three little rugrats curled up together on a large blanket, giggling together with their heads bent together. Neither of them had noticed me yet so I took that as a chance to move forward, slipping through the door and into the pantry, I closed the distance between me and the closest rugrat.
I grabbed ahold of little Sophie's braid, and gently tugged on it laughing triumphantly as she screamed in surprise. She whirled around to glare at me but it quickly turned into a big grin.
"Maxie!" The five year old Princess of Blackwoods Castle screamed and launched herself at me, toppling us both over so I was lying flat on the stone ground with the tiny child sprawled out over the top of my chest.
Her face was cushioned in my ample chest and her body was lying flat on my well toned (if I do say so myself) stomach. Sophie pulled herself up on top of me and glanced down with bright eyes.
"Maxie May! Can we go out to the garden?" She chirped in a happy tone, the two other rugrats; my younger brothers agreed loudly from where they were still seated on the large blanket. At the age of five, both of the twins were speaking and collaborate at a level much older than what they really were and it was amazing to see them with Princess Sophie, the King and Queen's daughter. Helping her, protecting her and cherishing her at the young age that they were. Both the King and the Queen along with myself had suspected that my darling yet annoying little brothers would be mated to the little Princess of Blackwoods Castle.
Sighing heavily, I tried to riffle through the list of the things I needed to do that I had made up in my mind. Finding nothing that needed to be done right at the moment, I picked Sophie up and placed her on my lap as I sat up. I twisted my legs beneath me, I set Sophie onto my thighs and brushed my hand over her braid to remove some of the mix that was present in her hair. "I guess, rugrats, but you three need to help me with cleaning the kitchen. You know you aren't supposed to be in here without someone and yet you were." I scolded the three of them, setting Sophie onto her own two feet and pushed myself up from the hard, cold ground.
I motioned for the three little rugrats to follow me, I stepped from the pantry and yelped when I caught sight of Warrior Lennox standing there with his beefy arms crossed tightly over his broad chest and his normally green eyes the colour of the black liquor our castle was known for.
All three of the rugrats filed out from where they were in the pantry and let out nervous giggles when they eyed Warrior Lennox with guilty eyes. He glared back at them, making the three kids gasp loudly and hide behind me, their hands clasping onto my skirt.
"What do you need, Warrior Lennox?" I questioned politely, trying to smooth down the shivering bodies behind me. The Warrior sneered sharply when one of the twins poked his head out from behind me and quickly disappeared afterwards.
"I said, what do you need, Warrior?" I repeated louder this time, hoping that the Warrior's eyes would move from the rugrats to myself which ,unfortunately, worked perfectly.
