Ch. 39

(POV: Fynn)

This week had been weird and confusing as hell. It started at the roof at the gala, one moment Julien had been falling and Lisa, Nora, Sadie and Eva had been running and seconds later Julien was safe on the roof again in Lisa's arms who was now standing near the edge. I looked to my right were Lars and Liv were standing, watching the scene almost sad, not shocked or confused at all. When I looked back to the scene in front of me again around eight men were standing above Lisa, Nora, Sadie and Eva, who were now all unconscious, what the fuck was going on?

'What the fuck is going on?'

Then I saw them walking, Axel and Karine. Lars had been my friend for a long long time so obviously I knew who his parents were.

'Bring them downstairs.'

Lars pulled me to the side so the entrance was clear for the eight men who were carrying Lisa, Nora, Sadie and Eva. I had no idea what was going on, but then I started thinking. Look, I'm stupid but not that stupid. When they were gone for a few seconds it finally hit me.

'O my god. They stopped time didn't they.'

'Yea they did.'

Liv finally spoke up.

'You're telling me I've been friends with four Quattuornexus this whole time?'

'Yea...'

'You don't look so shocked about this information. How long did you already know?'

It was clear that they had known this would happen but I didn't really understand why.

'We've known from the very start at the café. The radars didn't go crazy, they worked perfectly fine and they showed us four girls with level 60 and four different Sola. Our parents wanted to make sure the powerful Aithers were on his side and made sure I was the one to kidnap them and Liv the one to welcome them.

But then a few weeks ago our parents started to suspect they might be actual new Quattuornexus because of the threats and the only logical explanation was if the threat came from inside. So they convinced Ana to make them do le jeu des quatre and that's when we knew for sure.'

'They did le jeu des quatre as their practical exam?'

'Yes, they did.'

'And they passed?'

'...Yes.'

'Holy shit, we really do have cool friends. Wait why are you so sad then. Where are they going?'

'They are going underground, being a level 75 gives a lot of risks and they need to have great control of their powers otherwise they, and also a lot of other people will literally die, so we're trying to keep them safe.'

'Are you serious? That's your excuse for being scared of your parents? You know damn well your parents aren't taking them underground just to keep them safe and teach them control.'

'What are we suppose to do otherwise?'

'I dunno, maybe help them for real?'

'We can't just ignore our parents Fynn! You know who they are and what they can do!'

'Well you should think about who you prioritize, your sick family or your friends and your god damn girlfriend Lars! And you too by the way Liv, you might think because you don't say anything you're fine but you're not!'

'Well I'm sorry for you if we let you down Fynn but right now we really can't change shit anymore, it is what it is and you better cooperate or-'

'Or what? You're going to lock me up too? Well go your geng Lars, I don't give a fuck, at least I don't betray my friends! Now if you don't mind I'm going to bring Julien safe home and ignore your existence real quick.'
