my ring is at the register
of our local grocery store.
hidden deep down in the gift cards
that nobody's used before;except for that one boy i loved
when i was just a kid,
and i'd be lying if i told you
i don't still sometimes think of him.i'm a romantic for the mundane,
and a sucker for a song
telling the story of a lover
that's been alone for far too long.it's the only kind i relate with,
the only kind that makes me cry.
'cause maybe i am just a dreamer
finding solace in the sky.tell my mother that i'll miss her,
tell my dad he taught me well.
they always knew that i would get up
no matter how often i fell.they are why i know i'll make it,
the reason that i'm gonna fight
for the life that i am building
brick by brick, more every night.and maybe my childhood dreams are fading,
but they're never gonna die.
i'll fix them up, and i will save them,
though they may never get to fly.at least i'll still have an inkling,
and a guide to follow true.
and though my plans are ever-changing,
they are never falling through.
