Ch. 2- Dupain-Cheng Mystery

Marinette walked through the halls quietly as she was reaching her class. She had woken up late, so she ran all the way to school without grabbing breakfast. When she arrived, she knew if she ran, she could make a slight noise, and someone could catch her. She went to her room and entered. No one looked up. "Good no one noticed me." After a good 15 minutes Lila went by her desk to whisper something in Madame Bustier's ear. "Lila, I don't know if the class would like to be interrupted by something as classy as that." Lila sighed. Then she whispered again. "Oh, well alright if you must."

Madame Bustier clapped her hands and told everyone to turn their attention to Lila, "Please, quiet down class and listen to Lila as she speaks." As Lila went to her desk again, she left a note on Marinette's desk. Marinette opened the note and read.

"I told you I would ruin your reputation! Get ready to give up your Miraculous, Marinette! And if you don't, I will make sure your entire life gets ruined. I will make sure you and your loved ones live in a miserable life for eternity"

Marinette felt sick. Lila went up again. "Thank you, madame Bustier! Okay so there's something I need to tell you. It's about Marinette." Everyone stared at Marinette. She gulped. "Did she do anything?" asked Kim. "No, no. Marinette didn't do anything. It's just that she has a secret." "Then why would you tell the class if it's her secret." "Yea, secrets are meant to be kept secretive. Right, Juleka?" Rose asked Juleka. "Um... yea your right." She mumbled quietly. "Don't worry, Marinette let me tell you guys."

"What?" Ayla stared at Marinette. "What could be so important that you need to tell Lila first, rather than me, you BFF in the entire world." Marinette looked towards the window feeling guilty as Ayla was glaring at her. Then she saw two ears, then a tail and finally a person. 'LyraPaws' she thought. She turned back around. "You see," Lila continued pacing up and down in the front of the class. "This secret is unique. So, unique, in fact, that Marinette had to have me tell you." Lila kept going on and on about the great secret Marinette had while Ayla kept glaring at her. Outside, LyraPaws was getting anxious.

"Is she going to tell them or not. UHHHH! What's wrong with you, punk, just tell them!" LyraPaws was getting increasingly upset as she watched Lila do her little "Demonstration". Then she saw her look quickly towards the window and wink. 'Oh, so that was all part of her plan, huh? Smart, kid, smart. LyraPaws opened the door mid-sentence. "Her secret is..." "Her secret is that she's, Ladybug." LyraPaws yelled. Everyone locked their eyes on Marinette. Some gasped, some just opened their eyes wide, and their jaws dropped. "Are you really Ladybug, Marinette?" Adrien turned around to look at her as well as LyraPaws smirked. "I... I'm..."

LyraPaws whispered something and then an akuma started flying over to where Marinette was. Lyra Paws went over and had the akuma land in her hand. She put it on one of Lila's earrings. Lila transformed into Chameleon again. She started transforming into Kim and started choking rose, then she turned into Madame Bustier and started insulting the class. This had to stop. This must stop. Marinette got up from her desk. "Fine, you win I'm Ladybug. Now since everyone knows I'm very clumsy, I don't think I would make a good Ladybug. So have fun trying to get everyone convinced like that." "Oh, Marinette. You are so funny. Did Tikki teach you to be like this? Well, I thought Tikki was weird, but you're even weirder. I mean really, do you really think that I would fall for a trick like that and stop on my tracks of discovering your little secret? Wow and I though Trixx had tricks up her sleeve." Tikki couldn't hold it anymore. How dare anyone talk to her owner like that. She had enough and was about to fly out of Marinette's bag and defend her until a certain kwami of destruction beat her to it.

'Plagg' she thought. He was already going to tell LyraPaws off. "Listen I don't know who told you to treat people like that, but it stops now." "Aww, how nice the little kitten is being pawfully generous in showing himself for his lady instead of her, how.... awful. You were and are my ex you know." Plagg gritted his teeth and hissed at Lila and LyraPaws. He said a word Tikki thought she'd never hear again. "HUMANIZE!" There, in his place, stood a man with black, messy hair, ripped jeans, a ripped jacket (with no shirt underneath) and blue half tied sneakers. He also had Plagg's ears, tail, and fangs. Especially his love for Camembert cheese.

"Who are you calling a kitten?" He hissed. "Oh, no one in particular. Hey why don't you let me give this "Marinette" girl a piece of my mind." "Listen here LyraPaws. One thing is to insult me or Tikki, but to insult people like Marinette over there is out of your league." "Oh, really?" "Yes!" "Fine." She sighed. And in a puff of smoke, both her and Lila were gone. Plagg sighed. "I thought she had forgotten. I guess I was wrong." Plagg sighed and told everyone to go outside. "Alright, all of you go outside and wait. I will close the curtains too." He went to Adrien before he went out and whispered, "I'll be there in a few. Let me just finish with things in here."

Tikki sighed and got out of Marinette's bag unnoticed. "Plagg?" She called out. Plagg instantly turned around. "Oh, hey Sugar cube! How've mew been?" "Long time, Plagg." I can't believe she's back. I thought she forgot about this and gave up." Plagg turned back into a kwami. "She's been following us Tikki. I just know she is." Tikki and Plagg looked at Marinette who was picking her stuff up while sniffing. "Tikki, I am the worst Ladybug ever!" Tikki flew up to her owner. "No, you're not. Why would you say that?" "Because I just revealed myself in front of everyone!" "It's okay we all forgive you. We know it was an accident. You don't have to be crying." Marinette threw her backpack at Tikki. Then, she threw a chair at Plagg and Tikki. "Marinette!"
"SHUT UP TIKKI! ITS MARI THIS, MARI THAT. MAYBE IF YOU WERE IN MY SHOES, YOU WOULD KNOW HOW I FEEL. I WILL HAVE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF AKUMATIZED PEOPLE AT MY HOUSE! MY PARENTS WON'T ALLOW ME TO BE LADYBUG, PLUS I'LL BE GROUNDED FOR LIFE!!!!"

"But Marie!" "No, buts! I hate you and I don't want you in my LIFE again!" Tikki and Plagg gasped as Marinette stormed outside. Adrien was standing there talking with Nino until Marinette came down the stairs. Adrien went up to her. "Hey Marie, are you okay...." Marinette, instead of blushing, just pushed him and spoke. "My entire life I had a crush on you, but you ignored me. And instead, I had to deal with Cat Noir flirting with me the entire time. Why can't you be my partner instead of C..." Marie stopped. She looked up to see Cat Noir holding his hand in a fist. He looked down at her and chuckled. She glared at him again. "So, you only like Ladybug, right? I knew it! You would never like me for who I am. For me, Marinette!"
Marinette ran outside of the school sobbing. Lila and LyraPaws fist bumped as they laughed quietly, away from the others. Adrien transformed back. Plagg turned into a human again. He sighed as he put his arm on Adrien's shoulder. "I don't know what's up with her." Adrien ran outside and called Nathalie to pick him up, he needed to do some research into why she was like this.
