     I know that I love Adrien and Gabriel, but I feel regret for what I have done. The reason Gabriel ignores his son. The reason Adrien misses his mother and would want more than anything to have her with him? The reason our dear Emily is gone. It’s me. My fault. Me and my jealousy. The jealousness I had over the fact that she had “Gabriel Agreste”, and I had, well, no one.  Emily and I have been best friends since 1st year of school. We met and started talking. No one talked to me because of my glasses.

   They thought I was an ugly nerd. But one day I saw her. Emily Graham de Vanily. The most famous model in our school. I tried to talk to her, but I never got a chance. Then, she came up to me.
                                             {FLASHBACK}

    She said, “You seemed lonely, so I thought I’d come up to you.” I looked up. There was a girl talking to me. “It’s fine. I don’t need to be teased by any more people today.” I said glaring at a girl who was laughing and throwing rocks at me. When she saw the girl, she stopped and turned around. Then she came to us with a poster. “Please sign this, Emily Graham de Vanily.” My jaw dropped. It was the one and only Emily Graham de Vanily. She is my idol! I am such a huge fan I could burst! I wanted to tell her I’m a fan, but she got taken away by the group of girls who always teased me. ‘At least they’ll leave me alone.’ I thought. Then, I felt a hand on my shoulder. ‘Two Emilies!?’ “Sorry for the confusion. That was my twin sister, Amelie Graham de Vanily. I am Emily, but we tend to pretend so we can do what we want.” She giggled.

   “You want to hang out at my house today?” I stood their jaw dropped comprehending what I just heard. Emily. The Emily de Vanily, just asked me to come over to her house. I was so happy. I nodded my head. After school Emily grabbed my hand and took me straight to her limo. I think it was her. I sat down then her sister came. “Oh, so you grabbed the girl with the glasses, huh?” ‘Great, now one of them is going to tease me.’ “Amelie! You know how bad it is whenever someone makes fun of how she where’s glasses. She’s sorry. She didn’t mean it.” “Yea, sorry. I didn’t mean it to be harmful.” “It’s fine.” I mumbled.

     When I looked, we had already arrived. “Wow, your mansion is beautiful.” I said in awe. “Yeah, this is our house.” “Our mansion, you mean Emily?” “Yes, same thing. Hey, do you want to eat something?” “We’ve got tons of things to eat!” “Only with what she’s comfortable with.” I smiled. Maybe they could be my friends. They showed me around. “The kitchen is in there. Don’t worry, our servants will bring the food, so you don’t have to go in and ask. Also, our dining room is in this room.” I gasped at the sight. “It's huge, right?” “Very, Amelie.” We continued walking. “Alright, so in there is the designing and modeling room our parents have for us.

    And in here is our room.” I loved how nice their room was. We talked and ate and had the best time. I said goodbye after around an hour of having fun. I left and waited to see them tomorrow at school again. The next day at school, someone came up to me as I was about to go over to Emily and Amelie. “Where do you think you’re going?” I looked at Emily as she laughed at something Amelie told her. I remembered yesterday. I grew confident and said, “I am going over to where Emily Graham de Vanily is.” I tried to walk past her, but she grabbed my arm. “Oh, so you think I’ll let you go just like that. Please! They could care less about you!”

    “No, they’re my friends!” “Ha! You think they would want to be friends with someone like you?” I started to feel tears running down my cheeks. ‘Maybe they really don’t like me, and their niceness wasn’t really niceness at all’ I thought.
       “Hey! Leave her alone!” “Huh?” “I said leave her alone! She’s our friend and she doesn’t deserve to have someone like you treating her that way!” I turned around and saw Emily (or Amelie) shouting at the girl to leave.  I rushed over to her and thanked her. “I hope you’re okay. Emily’s over there talking with Audrey. (Audrey Bourgeois) I told her I saw you, so she walked over to Audrey while I went over here.”

   Then, there was a new guy I never knew who came up to us. He had light dark blonde hair like Emily and Amelie. My heart started racing. ‘I love him’, I told myself. He introduced himself as Gabriel Agreste and said that his father was a designer but wasn’t very well known. He told us he owned a mansion and that he could either study at school or at home. A few weeks then passed, and I became overly obsessed with him. I would blush every time he came up to us. I just tried to act as if I wasn’t. Years passed and I still couldn’t bring myself to admit my feelings towards him. One day when we were hanging out in the park, Emily came up to me and grabbed my arm.

    “What is it, Emily?” I asked I had already gotten told who they were by seeing who smiled more and who was more mature. Emily was more mature since, as she says, “Born 24 minutes and 19 seconds before Amelie.” “Guess what I have a boyfriend.” “Really, that’s so nice. Who is...?” Before I could finish, I saw Gabriel walk towards us. I tried hiding my blush. Then, I almost choked on my bitter saliva. “Nathalie, my boyfriend is Gabriel. I wanted to make sure you all got along with him until I could tell you. That’s why I made him introduce himself.” Emily said, smiling brightly as Gabriel held her close by her waist. I was NOT happy at all. I felt like crying.

  {Years later still in flashback}

     I am now the apprentice of Emily Vanily. I watch as she plays with her son. I volunteered to be her apprentice because she was my one and only best friend, but my jealousness got the best of me. One day, I had enough of watching Emily play with her son, Adrien, and spending time with my going-to-be boyfriend, Gabriel. I went to the kitchen and thought. ‘Maybe I should make her feel sick for an entire week and then Gabriel can get rid of her and love me once he sees I try to help her.’ I grabbed some supplies and got to work.

    Then, I brought the drink to their dinner table. I happily watched as she drank and ate. I held back my laugh. Emily looked at me with a worried expression. “Are you, okay Nathalie?” I simply nodded and went to the kitchen. I silently went to the doorway and stopped. I turned around and hid behind the corner. I was as quiet as a mouse, but she just kept giggling and talking as if nothing had happened, so I waited. And waited. Until finally, she got a headache and a bad cramp on her stomach. I would constantly ask if she was okay, and she said yes.

    Soon, after a week or so of headaches and cramps, Emily didn’t get up for 2 to 5 days straight. I went to check on her but was shocked. She was still breathing but wasn’t moving from her state! I didn’t want Gabriel to find out what I did, so I tried to think of something. I ended up taking her to a professional doctor to check on her. He looked and said, “She might be in a coma, or internally sleeping. Her mind is resting while her body is still awake.” He pointed to her heart. “Her heart is still beating, so she is not dead. She is just sleeping for now. It could be months, days, weeks, or even years before she wakes up. I’m sorry.” I sighed. ‘Good at least she’s not dead’. I arrived at the mansion quietly. I opened the gates and went inside. I opened the door and made sure Gabriel was nowhere. I hurriedly ran up the marble dazzling staircase and went into their room. I was just about to put Emily on her bed when I heard Gabriel call my name. “Nathalie! Please come here.”

    I was worried if he was going to fire me or simply yell at me for making his wife feel ill. Or maybe even both. I decided to put Emily on the bed in a resting position and then I kneeled and sat on my knees. I got some water and started dabbing and my eyes. I started crying too. Gabriel came up the stairs and saw me. I had my arms crossed over Emily’s chest. I buried my head into my arms as soon as Gabriel came inside. He saw me and teared up. “NOOOO!” He screamed. He grabbed Emily and went out and slammed the door. ‘Finally, I got rid of her’ I thought as I wiped my tears with a cloth.

     I was so happy I could burst. Years and years went by but nothing nice happened. Gabriel became cold towards Adrien and wouldn’t let him go to school because he needed to “keep an eye” on him. I realized what I did was a miserable and horrible mistake.

{FLASHBACK ENDED}

Today and all these days I still feel the same pain and suffering as before. If only I hadn’t let my emotions get to me. If only I hadn’t fallen for Gabriel. If only I could go back in time and undo my mistake. If only I could......
