Lucas's POV
It was now a few days after Annie's birthday party.

Maya and I have barely talked in those days.

I feel like I should tell her sorry for kissing missy.

I've had to tell her sorry a lot times in my life..

I sighed, playing with a rubber band around my arm.

I suddenly heard footsteps down the stairs and saw Maya carrying Annie.

She didn't stop and say anything to me like usual.

I leaned back in my seat and started thinking.

I think telling her about the wedding made things worse.

I stood up from the couch, taking a deep breath.

I started walking into her direction and into the kitchen.

I walked in to see Maya's back facing me.

"Hello Lucas." She suddenly said.

I was surprised. "You're speaking to me?"

She turned around. "I can't ignore you forever, you know."

She put Annie in her high chair and started feeding her.

"Well... I just wanted to say sorry." I said awkwardly.

Maya sighed. "Lucas, I don't know if I can do this anymore."

"What do you mean?"

She slowly stood up, facing me. "You always lie to me."

I started speaking. "But I--"

"And I'm tired of the girl always being missy! This even happened in High school."

She was right. I couldn't argue on that one...

I walked closer to her and held her petite hands.

"I've made many mistakes before. But the one girl I will always love is you! I love you Maya hart." I said, quietly saying the last words.

She didn't say anything so I kept speaking. "And that's why I want to marry you..."

She slowly let go of my hands after moments of silence.

"I don't think I wanna marry you... Sorry."

She then left the room, the words just floating in the air.
