Teen Parents (Lucaya Fanfiction) *on hold*

Chapter 5

I woke up the next morning to see Annie and Lucas downstairs eating breakfast.

"Hey." I said, entering the kitchen.

Lucas turned around to look at me. "Hey."

I didn't say anything else, opening the fridge, looking inside.

I heard Lucas stood up and say, "I have to go look for a job today."

I shut the fridge and nodded. "Okay."

Lucas's expression changed. "Are you okay? I can always stay here..."

I shook my head, reassuring him. "No no I'm fine, go look for a job."

He walked over and kissed my forehead gently, grabbing the car keys and went out the front door.

I looked at Annie in her high chair, who was playing with her peaches.

I moved them away, before it got too messy. "I think that's enough for you."

She just giggled and hit her hands on the chair.

I cleaned up the kitchen and took a seat at my computer.

I'm behind in all my college classes, and I needed to catch up.

I heard my phone beep in my pocket and I read it.

Riley: hey wanna go to the mall or something?

It was Saturday, and Riley probably already finished all her classes since she is free.

I bit my lip and texted back.

Maya: I can't... Sorry.

I shut off my phone and leaned my head on my hand.

Being a teen parent isn't easy... Not at all.

After about two hours, I was done with a couple of my classes and noticed Annie was getting bored in her high chair.

I walked over to her and picked her up, going into the living room.

I set her down carefully in her playpen and let out a breath.

"There you go." I said, smiling down at her.

She smiled back up at me, with her big green eyes.

At least she was a pretty happy baby....most of the time.

I was walking back to my computer and started my algebra work.

After a little while, I went to check on Annie to see if she was okay.

She was lying on her back, just chewing on a toy.

It's fine since I bought a ton of toys for we when she was born.

I walked back to kitchen and got a snack.

I suddenly felt a pair of hands get to my theighs and I jumped.

I turned around to see a smiling Lucas.

"Oh my god Lucas, you scared me!" I exclaimed.

"Sorry." He said, not sounding sorry at all.

I rolled my eyes and said, "how was job hunting?"

He looked down. "Nothing yet."

I took a seat next to him and placed my hands through his.

"It's okay. Like you said, we will get through all this together." I said.

He smiled warmly and we were both leaning in when we heard a loud cry.

I let go of his hands and rushed into the living room, with Lucas behind me.

Annie was holding something, with tears in her eyes.

I was relieved. "She just broke her pacifier again."

"Again?"

I nodded. "Yep. It's like her favorite thing in the world."

Annie looked at us with red, puffy eyes from crying and I reached into the toy box.

I pulled out a brand new pacifier and gave it to Annie.

"Here you go."

She took it and started clapping her hands together.

I turned towards Lucas who was smiling at annie.

Then he looked at me. "Now where were we?"

I shook my head. "Not now."

I walked back to kitchen and heard Lucas say, "aww dang it."
