Chapter 1: Auditions
Last night's wild party made Migi forget about the auditions today.
There were scattered tissues and party cups around the house. It almost looked like a Halloween decoration when viewed from the outside. Broken bottles and spilled drinks were even seen in the spots of their lounge and kitchen.
But by all means of a wild party, there were about four unashamed visitors who didn't mind taking over the two vacant rooms upstairs. By unashamed, it is because the clothes that they ripped off from their bodies were hung up all over the furniture. There's also a couple who stayed for the rest of their hours in the bathroom, as though it's convenient for them to catch up with their pleasure that's been delayed for months.
Fortunately, the other twenty-five people yesterday went home by two in the morning. Migi would feel less hassle in this situation in handling a few of them as he pushed them away at the house before his parents would even catch him in this huge mess.
Migi called a friend, whose name is Karl, then instantly transferred the money in his friend's account, "I forwarded you the plate number. You know what to do, right?"
"You can count on me, bro," Karl responded.
"Good. Do your best to distract my parents on the way."
Karl playfully whistled, "Copy that!"
After the call, Migi rushed himself to do his routine and change into a decent attire. He fixed his curls and sprayed himself with perfume.
He's running out of time for the auditions in a symphonic band that was marked this day at eleven in the morning. It was quite a panic because it's quarter to eleven already.
The real reason why he wants to join, even though it's not obvious due to his slack behavior for being late, is because it serves as his backbone to conquer his worries and fears.
However, his parents are not in favor of letting him do this idea, given that Migi is too invested in his music, they want him to focus on more significant things than a nonsensical leisure. So he secretly goes against it.
He dialed the numbers of the three women he flirted with last week. He negotiated with them for a date this coming Saturday in exchange for a general cleaning at his house.
Those women shrieked out of excitement. Since of course, these women are into the Lopez family, whether it's Migi or his older brother because they would die for their charms and wealth.
Migi sighed in relief when the issues were easily solved. It's a good thing to have broad connections when you need urgent help. He grabbed his keys as he drove like a bat out of hell. He reached his destination five minutes before the scheduled time.
So he ran to the hallways and entered the room of the said band he was applying for, which was referred to as Gestalt.
Gestalt is composed of five members, namely,
Alfonso Cabrigas, the lead violinist of the band;
Cedric Asuncion, who plays the sax with a gift in music arrangements;
Nicole Vidal and Cherry Brillantes, the other two violinists;
and Darzee Fernandez, their lovely secretary who plays the flute.
Upon entering the room, he met a girl wearing a blue cardigan, partnered with white fitted pants. Her hair is tied into a bun, letting a style fall over on both sides of her face, which displays her blonde highlights. Although she was wearing eyeglasses, you can easily distinguish the sparkle in her eyes and the lively mood that she expresses.
She waved her hand at Migi and smiled, "Are you Mr. Miguel Lopez?"
He nodded as he timidly rubbed his hair from the back.
"Oh god, good thing I didn't cross your name off the list! I thought you wouldn't be able to catch up, y'know, our bosses are quite impatient, I tell you," she purposely teased.
"I'm sorry, I got a little hang-- I mean, I had an emergency but I didn't want to miss this chance," said Migi.
"Just kidding! You don't need to feel pressured about this. I think you can get a hang of it."
"Uh, thanks,"
"No probs! I'm Darzee, by the way. If you have any questions you can ask me right away before they call you in the meeting room."
He beamed, "Thanks, Darzee. I'm curious, how many panelists are there?"
She giggled, "They're about four but trust me, it's super easy."
"Right. You talk like I'm afraid of it."
"Silly, it's just that you looked tense and unnerving. I'm just giving you a positive thought about this."
He nodded, "I see."
Darzee checked her watch, "I think we have a few more minutes, so what's your intended instrument to play for them?"
"Uh, a piano."
"Oh my god!! That's cool! I hope you'll get accepted. I expect you to be here, by then."
"I hope so," said Migi.
"You will, duh. Your atmosphere gives me so many negative vibes. I know you can do it!"
The bell suddenly rang amidst the conversation. It was done multiple times, seemingly feeling the uncontrolled temper of the boss from the room. Darzee knew what she did upon realizing. She shook her head while smiling mischievously.
Then she whispered to herself, "How possessive."
She turned herself in front of Migi, "You may now proceed in the meeting room."
