Chapter 3: Passed
Curiosity kills Cherry when she overheard Darzee mumbling to herself about Migi's impact on Alfonso. She didn't find Migi interesting enough to welcome him into the band. She was more invested in the previous applicant's potential whose name was Mark. But based on her observations, the members of Gestalt would most likely vote for Migi because of how genuine and vivid his performance was.
Although Cherry already expected the results, she wanted to ensure the reason for recruiting Miguel Lopez to their team. Other than his devotion to playing the piano, were there any other points that made them accept him?
Or maybe because Cherry was just simply into the previous applicant. Maybe because she wanted Mark to get to know her more. Maybe.
As Nicole dropped her question for Migi, Cherry continued with a displeasing statement, "I'm not even impressed by what you've got, though."
Migi stuck his tongue out. In the back of his mind, he said that girls are really ridiculous to handle. All over the stage, he spent dating, and since he's also the casanova prince in high school, he's slowly getting used to women who would mock his choices and actions. Most of those he dated had the scheme to twist the situation to make him look wrong.
Girls are difficult to read. That's how he sees it. Oftentimes, they are confusing, you never know if what they really meant was actually a lie or not. It's like playing guessing games just to know the girl's true intentions.
He's actually having second thoughts about it. Like how he covertly glances once in a while to Alfonso throughout the interview.
Speaking of Alfonso, his hair was a bit disheveled, which is why he wasn't removing his cap even indoors. He then crossed his arms over his chest, waiting for Migi's next move.
"I'll gladly accept any requests from you if you'd like. Just so I could prove that I am dedicated to joining this band," said Migi.
Everyone across the room was enlightened by his spirit. Even Darzee, who's sneaking behind the backstage while she was chewing bubblegum.
However, only Cherry hated how confident he was when he said it out loud.
"Oh, I have a request!" Cedric said as he instantly thought of an idea.
Alfonso beside him seems to figure out his suggestion. When Alfonso knew where it would lead, he was ready to support Cedric's silly motive. Let's just say that Alfonso and Cedric are partners for being a jerk.
"Ced," Nics warned.
"No, no. Let him," Alfonso snickered.
Cherry grumbled, "Al!"
"Migi, can you– " Cedric couldn't finish his ludicrous request when Nicole barged in quickly.
"You passed, Mr. Lopez! We're not going to beat around the bush anymore because you clearly possessed the ones at our criteria. In the meantime," Nics massaged her temple before letting out a sigh. "Just get out of this room, and we'll expect you to be here by Friday."
All of them were surprised. Miguel tried his best to contain his joy. He said to himself that it was easier than expected, after all.
"What do you mean, Nikki?" Cherry sounded disappointed.
Nicole gestured to her to stop, "Not now, Cherry. He obviously passed. Were you not that impressed by his performance?"
Cherry rested her chin on her right palm then said, "Mark did it way better."
Nicole smugged, "Nah, I'll just support you if you still want to keep in touch with him."
"The who? Who are you girls, pertaining to?" Alfonso asked as he overheard them.
"What was that all about?" Cedric said before scratching his head. He still hasn't moved on from what happened.
Nicole bit her lower lip, "Let's just say I don't want you guys to make fun of our applicant. Also! I ran out of ideas to pressure him with some questions, and besides, I can't wait to go out now!" Nicole then turned over to Darzee's direction, "Darzee! Is your copy ready?"
Darzee gave her a thumbs-up, "Sure thing! I know a great spot in Intramuros."
