Chapter 5: Flutist

Everything about her was a lie. Well, at first, it was. Since Darzee is the kind of person, who likes to assess people before she fully lets them into her life. It's just that the start had her a little trouble. It might look mild, but the process was inarguably tough. Luckily, she managed to make it this far.

Sometimes, it is simply how things must be. She knew there could be alternatives, and she just chose not to consider other ways that might spill her darkest secret. Even if everyone has ugly, naked truths, if you tend to become perceptive in your social circle, you'll choose to do your way of layering things just to cover up your other side.

So that was it; it was over. It was just as it's deemed appropriate to be.

When Darzee went home by the strike of dusk, she was then greeted by her favorite cats, namely Kovu, Kuroro, Klaus, and Kamaru. She carried them into her room, then prepared her laptop and papers at her desk. Her pets are not only her pets but her stress reliever from a very exhausting day.

Expect her to be an organized person. Any untidy tools and materials irritate her if not properly set in their own space. She loves books and relies on astrology to determine a person's attributes and intentions.

It's difficult for her to come out of her shell. She stows a wall between a conversation with meeting a new person; in retrospect, it takes a lot of time to establish a relationship with her. But sometimes, having to earn her trust only happens if the people around her are worth giving a shot. It's better to be wary than to have regrets about sharing your individuality with someone who'll eventually end up ruining you.

"Datchie! Dinner's ready," her mom called.

Only her family calls her Datchie. She wouldn't want to be referred to with it regarding her friends. She's trying her best not to mention it to the band members. Her guts were telling her that either Alfonso or Cedric would only make fun of it. She's certain they would. Because back in their first year together, she was heedless in sending her Gcash number in their group chat when it revealed her second name, Genevieve.

Even though those two loved to tease her, Darzee became used to it. Their teasing patterns were already bearable for her to handle.

"Coming!" said Darzee.

But before she went for dinner, Darzee decided to polish her nails with black and blue shades. She has an undetermined schedule in changing the patterns and styles for manicuring. Perhaps, once or twice a week, you could see the changes. Her friends from high school reminded her to pack her things by Saturday. They were about to go on a trip and had a lot of drinking sessions to catch up with. Fortunately, they have gained her parent's trust just to snatch Darzee anywhere they buoyantly want to.
