His eyes shot open, taking in a sharp gasp of breath as he looked at a bright morning sky above his head. The brightness was too much for his eyes to take after just waking up. Blinking numerous times to adjust his eyes to the lighting, he turned his head to see Oliver gasp with excitement to see Chip awaken. "Jay! He's awake!" Oliver shouted out, looking to his left as Jay walked over and entered Chips view. Thats when he noticed he was laying on the floor, a patched-up pillow under his head and a blanket spread across his body. Then he felt small needles poking his bare skin, felt like . . . hay? He was actually laying on hay placed to act as a bed. It was irritating to feel it against his skin, but he had bigger problems distracting him from that.

He shot up and sat up instantly once he fully woke up, "Where Gillion!" He shouted out, startling Oliver as he gasped at the sudden burst. CHip looked over at Jay and locked eyes with her like he was demanding an answer from her. A disappointed, long soft sigh oozed from her lips, " . . . Chip, me and you both know the ans-" "Well what are we doing?! We gotta go get him! Prepare the sails an-" A sharp pain escalated in his leg as he had attempted to stand up, immediately removing the weight he was putting on his leg. "Hey hey hey, don't do that you dumbass" Jay placed a hand on his chest to stop him from trying to get up again.

Defeat swallowed him whole, it was hoping maybe it was all a nightmare, and maybe Gillion was down in the sleeping quarters like usual. "Jay we have to-" "Chip we can't do anything at the current moment, you can't even properly use your left leg, and we have yet to know where they took Gillion," Jay said, bringing CHip to reality in an instant. She was right, but Chip couldn't stall a second. "Oliver, go to the kitchen, help Earl wrap his wound" Jay ordered Oliver. The child looked at Chip with a sad frown, then slowly took his leave. "What happens to Earl?"        Chip asked, he had completely forgotten about that old dirt pile of a man last night, I guess he just assumed Earl was safe. "Nothing, nothing actually. He fell down the stairs this morning- it turns out that Old man Earl slept through the night, not at all waking up to the fighting.." Jay explained as none of it came as a surprise to the two captains.

Silence arose in the atmosphere as they both waited for Oliver to leave. Chips' eyes drifted away and looked out at the sea ahead, water steadily waving like a blanket. "Jay... We can't stall too long. You saw how they handled Gillion putting him onto the ship! God knows how bad they're treating him wherever he is now..." Chip explained, voice starting to crack as tears swelled up, he felt pathetic for crying so quickly... "Chip, I understand how much you care about him, but we ca-" "No Jay. You Don't understand! I can't let Gillion spend one more second with those Navy guards! I can't bear the thought of Gillion getting hurt..." He interrupted with a stern tone, soon dying out into a softer more weak tone. "He's so innocent..." A small, cold tear rolled down his cheek and travel to his chin to drip onto the white blanket, making a small dotted grey mark on the blanket. His eyes fixated on that small wet tear stain, his eyes blurred as he stared off into space.

Silence took over the deck of the ship, leaving Chip buried in his thought, and Jay thinking over the situation. Her eye lit up and her head rose high, "I know where they took him! I know where they took Gillion!" She blurted out with eagerness. Still drowned in doubts and regret, he weakly lifted his head to look Jay's direction, "They took him to the prison. Obviously!" Jay added it seemed like the most reasonable place to take him. Thats where they took all their captives. To think that would cheer up Chip, it didn't do its best to lift his spirits. "I still don't understand why they took him. Why not you?" "No offense" he added as he saw Jay look at him with an irritated tone and place her hands on her hips, slightly offended, but the question stirred in her head. Why was it that they took Gillion, and not Jay? What good would they get out of taking him?        "None taken..." Jay added, forgetting to comment with that before her moment of silence. Jay was just as sad with Gillion was taken captive, this was primarily her fault, everything that involved the Navy was clearly her fault, at least thats how Jay took it, which was, sadly, a bit true. Jay was just hoping Chip wouldn't bring that up to sue against her and make her feel like more shit, surely Chip understood that some of it was her fault, or maybe the bastard was blind to it. Letting Jay join his crew meant Chip was well aware of what may happen with a Ferin on his ship, he knew very well that the Navy wouldn't back away with the daughter of the Ferins missing out at sea. So, Chip most likely kept that thought to himself, knowing what he signed up for in the beginning.

Chips eyes noticed Oliver, who was peeking from behind the large pillar that hoisted up the ship's crow's nest, not at all pointing him out or verbally calling him out. Oliver knew Chip was aware of his presence now, almost like Chip didn't mind him hearing the conversation. Slowly ripping his eyes away from the boy, he gazed down at the wooden planks that made up the ship's floor, his eyes tracing the cracks that traveled through the planks like tattoos. "While I heal up, we need to start planning. We need to rescue Gillion back. Every second wasted is dealing harm on Gillion. He's gonna run his mouth and end up hurt..." Chip repeated, eager to start some sort of rescue plan to get back the triton. Though with only Jay and Chip, it's going to be a difficult process to break into a Navy prison, considering a previous navy is part of that duo crew... "But how, the moment I step foot into that prison, I'll stand out like a neon sign reading It's me! Jay! Right here! That's gonna put a toll on this whole plan!" Jay pointed out, making an obvious point. Chip had already taken that into consideration, also adding the possibility of them recognizing him, considering his face is plastered to several wanted posters.

Jay brought herself down to take a seat beside Chip, who was holding his hands together on his lap, his thumb slowly rubbing his skin in a soft slow motion. "We'll get him back, Chip. With a little bit of brainstorming and a sprinkle of chaos, our triton will be back with us" Jay softly spoke, trying to clear out Chips doubt and bring him to some light, some positivity. Lifting his chin and turning his head to her, a small warming grin creaked onto his face weakly. "Did someone say orange juice?" An old, annoying voice, clearly Old man Earls, broke the moment. Earl obviously never was able to read a room, "No one said orange juice-" Jay pathetically chuckled out, Chip exhaling from his nose in replacement of a laugh. "Good. I didn't have any orange juice anyways." The old man humphed as he waddled away, mumbling curses under his breath as he went back to his kitchen. "Maybe we could use Earl as bait-" "No." Jay cutoff Chips absolute shit idea, standing up from the sloppily made bed. "Listen, I'll try to get us on course to the Navy Prison. It should maybe take us two days, which should give us enough time to brew up a plan" She explained, trotting to the wheel of the ship, proceeding to unravel her map, laying it out on top of a wooden crate, placing a compass in the center of it, also using it to secure the map from blowing away.

"Alright, I'll head to the sleep quarters, maybe rest up there and do some planning." Trying to stand up, yet again forgetting his left leg wasn't going to cooperate. This was where Oliver came in handy, shuffling over to the father-like figure and offering to be of assistance. Standing on his left. Since Chip wasn't a heavy, large guy, Oliver managed to escort Chip to his hammock without many troubles. "You'll be sure to safely bring back Gillion, right?" Oliver asked, approaching the hammock and letting Chip get into the hammock. A sigh of relaxation, relief of that struggling journey from the upper deck to his hammock came to an end. Once he got comfortable in his sleeping hammock, he fixated his eyes on the young innocent boy "That's the plan, yes. You just worry about yourself, we'll take care of the problem" A reassuring smile warmed upon his lips, the same sort of smiling curled on Oliver's lips as well. "Alrighty Chip! Rest up!" He beamed joyfully, as he trotted out and headed up to find something to do.

Another sigh oozed from the captain's lips, the silence was joined with the swashing noise of waves outside the ship, smoothly carrying the Albatross across its blue body. Next to the hammock was Gillions barrel, seeming still to be knocked over on the floor, water spilled on the floor, shining like a glossy marble kitchen floor. A sudden, creature, noise purred, it was a mix of a gurgle and a purr coming from the tipped-over barrel. Out crawled Pretzel, who looked up at Chip, seeming to exit the barrel with caution. The frogtapus looked confused, scared, on the edge. Chips eyes locked with Pretzel's pink hue eyes, feeling horrible for the clueless pet.         Though Pretzel seemed like she knew, it was wrapped in the look she gave the captain. Not being able to look at the small creature any longer without feeling more depressed and guilty, and repositioned himself to turn his back to her, laying on his side and looking out the circular window placed beside him.
