(This fic will be based around Supergirl Season 2 episode 19. You are Alex and Kara's younger sister and you are dating Maggie Sawyer. You go missing instead of Alex.)

Maggie was working late there was a hostage situation. Maggie was on the phone trying to negotiate. "You don't have to hurt anyone...No one's making you do this...Your choosing to do this...You and your friends chose to go into that bank and chose to take those people hostage, you know what? You can choose to put your guns down. You can choose to let those people go. You can choose not to hurt anyone."

Maggie turned when she heard a man shout. "Look up in the sky!"

Maggie turned back round looking up at the sky and saw Supergirl fly into the bank. Maggie scoffed, shook her head and hung up the phone.

Not even a minute later Supergirl came walking out with both men, keeping a firm grip on the both of them. "Hey, not even pretty boy Floyd got to meet Supergirl. It'll be a fun story to tell your roommates in jail!"

Maggie strolled over to Supergirl. "Supergirl."

Supergirl looked to Maggie hands on hips, smiling broadly.

Maggie didn't look impressed. "I almost had him."

Supergirl shook her head. "And I got you over the finish line! And just in time for dinner. I'll see you later." Before Maggie could respond Supergirl took off into the sky.

Kara and Alex were in your flat. Kara was currently getting the Pizza of the delivery man. "Thanks." While your older sister Alex was waving a towel back and forth to stop the smoke alarm. Mon - el was sitting next to you laughing. "Alex don't be embarrassed, okay? The first time I tried to microwave macaroni and cheese, they had to evacuate three city blocks."

You spat out your drink. "Wait what?!"

Kara laughed while putting the pizza boxes on the table. "That's an exaggeration, but I have seen less terrifying nuclear explosions."

You went and sat down next to Maggie while Alex sat on Kara's side, with Mon - el on the side opposite.

Maggie lifted up the pizza lid. "Well, I like pizza better than paella anyway."

You laughed and nodded your head, figuring you would help make Alex feel better. "Yes. Me too."

Kara was getting very excited. "I love ham and pineapple!"

Mon - el looked at his plate. "Thank you. It totally shouldn't work, but it totally does."

Mon - el first looked to Alex and then to you and Maggie. "How's my girlfriend, guys, huh?"

Kara laughed. "What?"

Mon - el leaned back in his chair. "Bank robbers, zero. Supergirl two." Kara laughed and hit mon - el with the towel. Mon - el leant forward in his chair. "What do you even need cops for in this city?"

Maggie looked up at him sharply. Your eyes nearly bugged out of your head. You looked to Alex to see the same expression on her face.

You turned to Maggie. "He's from a different planet. He doesn't even know what he's saying."

Maggie shook her head at you. "No, he's right. Why bother trying to talk a guy down, when Supergirl can just swoop right in and force him down? Seventeen hours of What do you want, how can I help you? Good old fashioned hostage negotiation wasted."

Kara looked taken a back. "You're not upset that I caught the bad guys and got everyone out safely, are you?"

Maggie looked at Kara. "I would have gotten them to free the hostages."

You couldn't help but look between your girlfriend and your big sister. You looked to your older sister for help but she just sat there with her mouth open.

Kara carried on talking. "Maybe. But they're in jail now, where they can't hurt anyone. That's all that matters."

Maggie tilted her head. "As long as they don't use the Supergirl defence."

Kara looked confused. "The what?"

Maggie looked back to Kara. "It's a thing some criminals use to get their charges dropped. It's a perfect storm for a defence attorney. Excessive force, evidence contaminated by debris, vigilante justice."

Kara wasn't happy. "Vigilante justice? I stand for hope and help and compassion! I did what I had to do to get those people out of there."

You decided now was the time to step in. "I think what Maggie's trying to say is that what you do is amazing when we're up against..."

Maggie cut you off. "A giant purple monster or a half - cyborg murderer sure. But most of the time, police work requires a more delicate touch."

Kara reached for her wine. "Delicate?"

Maggie looked at Kara. "Yeah. You broke a guys arm and you gave another one a concussion, and that was after you knocked in the roof of a National City landmark. And now it just has a big, Supergirl - sized hole in it."

This time it was Alex who cut in. "A thousand things could've happened from the time of your call to the hostages walking out. Maybe, yeah, sure, Kara broke some walls, but she got everyone out of there safely and that is a win."

You internally groaned when Maggie jumped in again. "Well, she should have asked. But she never looks before she leaps!"

Kara was frowning. "Because I can fly."

Maggie scoffed looking away. "Okay."

Mon - el cleared his throat. "Well, as being something of a superhero myself, I can say that sometimes it's better to punch than to talk."

Kara smiled at Mon - el. "Sometimes talking is more hurtful than punching. Obviously I've upset you Maggie. I'm gonna go."

Kara got up to leave and so did Alex. "Yeah me too."

You didn't know what to do. "No guys don't."

Kara waved you off. "No, it's fine. Thank you. Thanks for dinner."

You got up to follow the three of them out. You heard Mon - el shout after Kara. "Babe!"

Alex shut the door behind them.

You turned back towards Maggie. "I know you're upset about earlier, but I really...I just want you and my sisters to get along."

Maggie looked stressed. "Kara and I get along great. It's Supergirl that I sometimes have trouble with."

You sighed. "Okay, just keep trying. Okay?"

Maggie nodded. "For you yeah."

You turned towards the door when you heard Maggie say. "Where are you going?"

"To catch up with my sisters and tell them to try too. But they're both just as stubborn as you are. Um...don't wait up for me."

You quickly made your way towards the lift. There was only one person in as you entered.
