#I'm sorry for not updating sooner🙏
Mew hadn't prepared for this. They were going to use Luke's case to present their case. He hadn't planned this far ahead.
Alpha was all for Becky but he hadn't expected her to do that in here in front of the seniors. He was disappointed.
"What are you talking about?" Elder who had been sitting relaxed sat up and looked around confused. "Just what have you all been doing in this land?"
The seniors started discussing amongst themselves. Just how had it passed their attention? What about the lady? Had he lied to them?
"Leader. I'll ask you and I need you to be honest to the council." The elder spoke slowly but sternly. "Are you mated to a human male?"
Mew didn't hesitate, "Yes elder." But his heart was about to fail him. What was this fear?
A chorus of exclamations rang through the room as the seniors were surprised at the news. After a while they quietened down.
"Did you all this while deceive the council and your pack?"
Mew dropped his head guilty.
"Where is your mate?" The leader asked.
Mew closed his eyes disappointed in himself. "He is in Bittè."
More exclamations and complaints filled the room but the chairperson handled it quickly.
"Why is your mate in Bittè?" Alpha asked angry. "Is he plotting another ruse with them to attack us as if last time wasn't enough?"
Mew could feel his feathers being ruffled by his father but Elder beat him to it. "Did you know about this Alpha?"
Dang it!! Alpha thought. "Yes I was aware but I was not in support of this."
"You should've alerted the council alpha. How are we going to recover from all the lies and the deception your family has put us through."
The elder was angry and the seniors were angry with him. In their sacred land, how could they have homosexuals.
One senior stood up,
"If I may elder, this is unacceptable. We can't have an alpha with a male mate. The calamity that may befall us will be too much. We have already seen the attacks. We have to stop it."
Mild looked at Mew and nudged at him. Now was the chance to stand up to them. If he wanted a happy ending now was his time to stand up to them.
Mew thought of Gulf. He had done him wrong from the very beginning and this was his chance to redeem himself.
"Me having a male mate is not in any way related to anything happening around here. If anything, it has brought about an opportunity for us to settle matters between Bittè and Oaklagen. If Bittè can host an Oaklagen Luna then I believe we can move on to the next stage of attaining a peace treaty. The last years has seen us being brutally attacked not only by Bittè but by surrounding packs and it's all because of hatred which stemmed because of you seniors." His voice rose towards the end, coated with so much anger.
"Leader!!!" The chairperson was taken aback but Mew was not stopping.
"Bring a Bittè person right now and ask them who they fight? I'm betting my life it's rogues and Oaklagen. All because you refuse to see and acknowledge the fact that the world has changed."
"We are protecting our traditions!" The alpha retorted loudly.
Mew did not miss a beat. "What gain is it to have traditions followed by dead bodies?"
