– Good evening.
An attractive blonde walked into La Gabbia and looked around. She was wearing white blouse, black jeans and a black leather jacket. As soon as she was inside, she pushed her sunglasses up and impatiently looked around.
– Good evening. – Gizem walked up to greet the new customer. – Are you alone or with company?
– I'm not here to eat. I'm here to see Özgür bey.
– Is he expecting you?
– Just tell me where he is, please. – The woman looked impatient and Gizem, trying to avoid making the scene, pointed her towards the patio.
– I'll send him right over.
The blonde turned around and sighed.
– Ozzy, hurry up.
A boy of about seven years old walked in with a sour face. It was obvious he didn't want to be there.
– Why couldn't I stay in the hotel? – He asked, glaring at the woman.
– Because you're too young to be left alone and because I want you to meet someone. Come on, oğlum. – She reached out her hand and he reluctantly took it.
– Now you sign here and I'll file this tomorrow morning. – Deniz gave a pen to Fitnat, who immediately put it in her mouth and began to bite on it. She was nervous but determined. Her soon-to-be ex-husband gave her almost everything she wanted, just to be free of her and it hurt. She expected him to put up more of a fight. – Fitnat hanım? Everything OK?
– Yes, of course. I got almost everything I wanted. – Her hand trembled as she put the pen to the paper.
– Fitnat hanım, I know it's hard, but this is what you wanted.
– I know, but... Over thirty years together and I found him in bed with some bimbo.
– I know the feeling... – Deniz whispered under her breath, but Fitnat heard her.
– You do?
Deniz sighed. She didn't mean to say it, it just slipped out of her mouth. Damn it. And it had to happen in front of Fitnat hanım, of all people. Deniz was sure that the moment she steps foot out of her office, the woman will call every single person she knows and blab about Ozan dating a divorcee. Damn it!
– I was married until the day I found my ex in bed with another woman. – She reluctantly admitted. – So I divorced him and never looked back.
Fitnat bit on the pen one last time and finally signed the papers. Deniz looked at her in silence. She was used to Fitnat sticking her nose everywhere and being general pain in the behind, but right now, the woman she had before her looked defeated. Broken. She vaguely remembered how it felt, signing those papers. At the time she did it, she was still raging. She was so furious she couldn't sleep for a week, because every time she closed her eyes, her mind came up with elaborate ways of hurting her ex. She used to daydream about that a lot even in the years after, but then she met Ozan and he wiped that anger and hate from her heart. She smiled gently, remembering the picnic he took her on and their first kiss.
– Well, thank you, Deniz. – Fitnat took her bag and got up. – Let me know when it will be done.
– Of course.
Even before the door downstairs closed behind the beloved auntie, Deniz heard her calling Sevim hanım.
– Sevim? You will never believe what I learnedabout Ozan's girlfriend.
