Link's POV Some time before Sky's awakening
Me, Zelda, Impa, and Daruk were coming back from Death Mountain with my stomach full of rock (don't ask) and had almost made it to Daruk's home when the guy that almost fell into the volcano stumbled out of the house.
"Hey!" Impa cried out. "Stop!"
He didn't seem to hear her. He just limped away as fast as he could from us. Which was... pretty fast.
We had to run to catch up with him, and even then, he barely made it past the chief's house before Impa grabbed him.
When she did the man started to struggle against her grip. Impa was pretty strong, but she was having trouble keeping her hold on him. And I highly doubt that he was at full strength.
Zelda came up to him and put her hands gently on his shoulders. The man stopped struggling momentarily in order to look at Zelda. Something like curiosity or hope in his eyes.
When he saw Zelda he relaxed in relief but looked sad, as if he was expecting someone else.
"Oh. Hi Flora." He said. I was confused. Maybe he got Zelda confused for someone else?
"Sorry I ran." He apologized. "It's just, I woke up in an unfamiliar place and my blood is wanted by many monsters, so... Hey have you or Wild seen the rest of the Chain anywhere? And who are your friends?"
I blanched. How could he talk so casually to the Princess? Even if he had mistaken her for some one else, he surely would have noticed her Sheikah slate or the triforce symbols on her boots, marking her as a member of the royal family.
Zelda looked at me in the eye, sending me a silent message. Right. Be careful. This guy could be a Yiga spy.
"I don't know what you're talking about sir." The Princess started. "My name is Zelda not Flora. And I don't know this 'Wild' or your Chain."
The man looked at her in confusion.
"What do you mean?" There was a bit of concern in his voice. His eyes widened in understanding. He turned to me with an indescribable look in his eye.
He turned to me and opened his eyes as if he was going to say something, but froze when he saw me.
His gaze traced over the left side of my face, the tips of my hair, my hip, and my armor over my chest. I felt my cheeks warm in embarrassment at the surprise inspection.
"But... you don't know who I am... don't you?" He asked.
Zelda shook her head. The man's shoulders sagged in lost hope which obviously made Zelda regret her action.
"Oh." He said. "Sorry. I must've gotten you confused for someone else." He stated with a fake smile. "I'm Sky." He held out his hand.
Zelda took it in hers and shook it. "Princess Zelda. But please, call me Zelda. These are my companions, Link, Impa, and Daruk." She pointed at each of us in turn.
Sky looked a little surprised when Zelda introduced them. As if he knew other people with those same names.
"If I may ask..." Impa said, drawing everyone's attention. "who is this 'chain' you speak of?"
"My brothers." Sky said it in a way as if it was a well-practiced lie. But what would he be covering? "We must have gotten separated."
We all looked at him with different expressions, causing Sky to go a beautiful shade of vermilion.
"Sky... you fell from the actual sky." Daruk said.
Sky put on a surprised face but seemed as if that was no surprise to him, like he did that for fun on the weekends. "I did? Wow."
This guy confused me big time.
