Clear Waters

The country a truly beautiful sight, but I only see what's beyond the surface

Like all things of beauty or things of ordinary existence there's always a chance of a darkness lingering within them

Unfortunately more often than not

Things of beauty conceal hidden distraught

An ordinary tree where a person breathed their last

Objects that hide a horrifying past

A creature of darkness that lurks among the tall grass

I can see it all as clear as glass.

I looked down towards the pond where light did not gleam

I see those who were lost, trapped in that murky green

I feel like everything is tainted like that pond and the alders

Is it wrong to long for the tranquil of clear waters
