This is my safe haven.
The flawless waves constantly crashing and the bright sun shining down on me.
My breathing becomes easier upon seeing the ocean, even the sheer smell of saltwater can calm me down.
This is my home.
I'm at peace riding the wave I'm currently on before throwing my body off once satisfied with my ride.
I begin paddling back out to the lineup and look ahead waiting for something to happen. I see a little something forming and paddle until the wave picks me up.
I use my back foot to control my body on the wave and ride it through taking a few turns and snaps I wish to improve on.
After 3 hours my skin had pruned, my stomach was practically begging for food and my body was overtaken with exhaustion.
I walk onto the soft sand whilst hopping on one leg and taking off my leg strap, walking up to my belonging I dig the nose of my surfboard into the sand.
I lay down on my towel letting the sun dry the water off my body.
I'm soaking up the sun until I feel something that felt like a raindrop fall onto my face. I open my eyes and saw Reece Slater standing over me dripping wet and smiling down at me.
"Fucking asshole" I shake my head as he continues grinning at me.
"Well good morning sunshine" he smiles sitting down next to me. "Saw you do that sick cutback, call me impressed"
"Thanks, Reece, weird I didn't even see you out there" I shrug my shoulders.
"Your loss I killed it" he chuckles.
"How are you not hungover?"
"God decided I was too awesome" he cheekily smiles.
"Well then you're a lucky boy"
"I know I am" he smiles making me smile at him.
"What are your plans for today?" he asks shaking some sand off his arm.
"Not much might surf again at sunset I suppose"
"Wrong"
"What?" I ask confused narrowing my eyes.
"You're spending the day with me" he grins.
"Why would I want to spend even more time with you" I tease as Reece fakes a hurt look.
"Do my feelings mean nothing to you" he scoffs.
"Bang on the money" I laugh as he rolls his eyes. I watch him stand up and offer his hand down to me, I accept and he pulls my body up to stand up with him. I brush some sand off my body whilist he grabs both our surfboards.
"How kind" I smile at him carrying my surfboard for me as we begin walking up the sand towards the parking lot.
"Mama raised me right" he chuckles.
I unlock my station wagon and open the boot for Reece to load the surfboard into since my passenger's seats are folded down giving me space instead of tying them to the roof.
Reece slams the boot closed and hops in the passenger seat whilst I do the same thing sliding into the driver's seat after putting on my denim shorts but deciding to leave my bikini top on.
"Alright, what's your grand plan if you're gonna make me hang out with you" I turn her head to face him.
"Um firstly don't act like you don't love to be in my presence, you love me shoe-lace" he chuckles.
