Miami, FL

Y/n felt a pang in her chest as she stared down at her father's lifeless body, she reached out and poked him. Nothing. She let out a small gasp of shock and disbelief, the wind began to blow through the shudders, however, the crisp breeze that blew against her shoulders had felt no different than a few seconds ago.

She fell to her knees, completely silent and her body now stiff with despair. She had only now realized her father was gone, and the poor girl had no idea where her mother was, she walked out on the both of them when she was nine and now she's sixteen.

The sky had changed from every shade of blue to a dark gray, her expression did the same.

At his funeral, many people had attended. Everyone besides her mother, Y/n soon became disgusted of and resented her mother. In frustration and in sadness, Y/n clutched her father's straw fedora to her chest, trying to ease the pain.

Y/n continued to think of her mother anyhow, her veins filled with fury at the thought of her mother smiling while she was here, in pain.

She felt a bump on her back, and a thud along with it.

"Lo siento. . ." A relative said from behind Y/n, Her enraged expression as well as her grip on her father's hat both softened.

Y/n had waited until after the service was over later that evening, the candles at her father's grave had already died out. She trudged over with a rose in her hand, everyone else had left a flower on her father's grave.

She reached her arm out to set it down, but she froze. Her body had locked and she just couldn't let go. Finally she inhaled deeply and put the rose back where everyone else had gotten theirs, and walked away.
