-------------------------------------->AQUILA BLACK GOT READY FOR HER FIRST PREFECT PATROL, the badge gleaming proudly on her chest. She, apparently, was patrolling with Lucius Malfoy. Before that, was a Prefect meeting, and then the actual patrol would start. Aquila remembered that, when she was young, she used to call Lucius 'bleach boy' until her father or mother would tell her that the Malfoys didn't bleach their hair. Still, the nickname was fairly amusing. Sighing, she went down to the common room. The Slytherin Common Room gave of a cold feeling. It had a table there, where things like books, pieces of parchment, etc. were lying there. There were many chairs and recliners, and a large bookshelf. There was a fireplace in the corner and the Common Room was decorated in shades of silver, black and green. There were three portraits there. One was of Salazar Slytherin, another of a Basilisk, and the last of Merlin. When Aquila got to the Prefects meeting room, they had almost started the meeting. "I hope I'm not late" Aquila said hurriedly. Bellatrix, who was the Head Girl, said "Of course you're not. But, you held us up so be quicker next time"
"I will"
"Good. 5th years, I hope you know your fellow Prefects. If not, Rudolph-oops, sorry, Rudolph- Rodolphus Lestrange, your Head Boy, and I, Bellatrix Black, your Head Girl, will tell you the seventh-year Prefects..."
"Hufflepuff Prefects, sixth year are Cassidy Thompson and Edward Tonks, Ravenclaw sixth-year Prefects are Meredith Fawley and Morris Bentley, Gryffindor sixth-year Prefects are Allie Masons and Marcus Weasley, Slytherin sixth-year Prefects are Andromeda Black and Octavius Yaxley" Rodolphus said.
"And the Hufflepuff seventh-year Prefects are Sophia Abbott and Emmett Macmillan, Gryffindor seventh-year Prefects are Molly Prewett and Arthur Weasley, Slytherin are Elenore Smith and Aiden Avery and the Ravenclaw ones are Rosaline Prince and Patrick Venus. " Bellatrix finished.
"So, newbie prefects, you have to patrol the corridors, dock off points and give detention to troublemakers. Got it?" Bellatrix said. Finally they could start their patrols.
The first hour was so silent, it felt suffocating. So when they saw a troublemaker, Aquila yelled out "Oh thank Merlin!" making Lucius give her an strange look. Her outburst made the troublemaker, a first year named Emily Vincent, turn around. Lucius had a sneer on his face, while Aquila had a kind expression fixed in place. "Emily, isn't it? Why are you out so late? Growing children need lots of sleep. So go to your dorm, and make sure you sleep well as tomorrow is Monday."
"10 points from Ravenclaw, and detention with your Head of House." Lucius said.
"Lucius, you can't do that! The poor girl needs sleep!" Aquila protested.
"Fine. Next time you're out of bed, that will happen. Got it?"
"Y-y-yes"
"Why were you out of bed anyway?"
"Somebody challenged me to a duel, but they are not there, and I couldn't answer the riddle"
"Well, next time, don't say yes to a midnight duel. And I'll help you"
"Aquila-"
"And Lucius probably doesn't want to come."
When they went to the Ravenclaw Common Room entrance, the riddle was-
"Where do the vanished things go?"
"Well" Aquila said, clapping her hands together. "They don't really go anywhere, so, that is to say, nowhere" the common rom door opened. Emily smiled at her gratefully.
"Now go to bed. We don't want you to lose much-needed sleep. Goodnight"
"Goodnight"
