The rest of the day zoomed by. I found my way to English easily and study hall was silent for me. I just finished the little of homework I had. The bell finally rang and I was the first one out of the classroom. I put my stuff in my locker. I didn't have to bring anything home but my schedule. I put it in my purse and I closed my locker. Now I had to go find the bus. Great. This would be a struggle. I walked out of the building and felt someone tug me on the shoulder. I turned around to see who it was.
"Hey, Alex has basketball today so he won't be riding with me. Buses are lame, will you ride with me?" Dylan asked.
"Oh I don't know... I don't want anyone to see and ask questions."
"pleaseeeee," he puppy dog eyed me.
"fine."
"yay, let's go."
I followed him to his car. He had a cool guy car. It was silver Mercedes Benz. He opened the car for me and gave me a smile. He shut the door when I got in and he got in his side and started driving away.
"so how was your first day?" he asked.
"easy but boring."
"well that's always fun."
"yup."
Dylan had one hand on the steering wheel and he grabbed my hand with the other one.
"is this okay?" he said to me looking me in the eye.
"ya," I responded quickly.
"good cause I like it," he smirked.
"me too."
The school wasn't that far from the house so we turned into the driveway within seven minutes. He parked the car in the driveway and let go of my hand. He kissed me on the cheek and he got out of the car. I opened the door and stepped out holding my bag. Dylan walked into the house and I was a few steps behind him. He swung his backpack onto the counter in the kitchen. I hung mine up on the coat rack.
"hey kids," said Christina who was sitting in the living room.
"I didn't know you were coming home with Dylan," she added on.
"ya it was just kind of convenient," I told her.
"I happened to see her after school and offered her a ride."
"well that's nice, I hope Adam wasn't waiting for you."
I'm sure Adam could have cared less about me. He practically ignored me on the way to school. It's not like he needed me on the bus. A minute later he walked through the door. He didn't seem to notice my disappearance but it was whatever. I didn't expect him to care about me.
"so I was thinking me and you could go shopping in about half an hour," Christina said to me.
"ya that's great."
"so how was your day?"
"good."
"that's good, did you find your way around?"
"yes I did, it wasn't too hard."
"good, good."
I walked up to my room to fix myself up for going out in public. I brushed my hair out and looked in the mirror. My eyeliner was a bit smudged so I touched it up.
"you're beautiful without makeup."
There was Dylan standing at my door smiling at me.
"that's what they all say, until they see the girl without makeup on and they're gone."
