((A/N: yo I'm back! I may or may not have stolen some lines from the other book...pls my brain has been 💀 recently. Anywho enjoy!))

He looked around and he heard a gasp behind him.

"This...this place is~ uh..."

He turned around and saw Sophia looking around the room and he nodded.

"It reminds me of the 80s and I hate it. Gosh I've never seen something so tacky in my life.

"It gives me 'old person' vibes. I wonder who owns this place?."

"I'd suggest a 'old person'? "

"Goodness this place really needs to be updated."

They both turned around to see this short old lady staring at them. The three of them looked at each other with such a gaze that Charles couldn't look for too much longer.

He took out his English to Italian dictionary as he went to talk to her.

"Oh love, don't worry I can speak in English."

'Phew, I didn't have to talk in Italian'

He thought as he smiled at her. As he turned to Sophia with a thumbs up he saw her face blank as a page.

"Charles...we just insulted her inn..."

"Oh~ OH!~"

He turned to the old lady and apologized multiple times.

"Oh goodness it's fine. You two are both right, this place definitely needs to be updated. You must be Sophia Machaster."

How did she know?

Charles had this thought in his head the whole time the old lady and her talked.

Maybe it's obvious that it was her, I mean what other teenage girl would be here??

She turns to Charles with the keys and they head upstairs to the second floor.

He entered first and placed his suitcase on the bed beside the window.
When suddenly a voice came from behind him.

"Hey! I call that bed!"
She ran past him, shoved his suitcase off the bed, and plopped hers on it instead.

"What? No, I put my suitcase there first. That means that I get the bed."
"Well, my suitcase is there now. Oh, and how does the saying go? Ladies first."
At that Charles scowled at her and sat on the other bed.

He looked around and saw a horrendous wallpaper coloured red and orange with swirls and patterns on it.

It in no way matched with the beige carpet that surely had never had a cleaning in its life.

The bathroom had one of those ugly white and grey tiles with a chip in the sink and a toilet that didn't flush properly.

'If she's so rich, why couldn't we have gotten a better place to stay?'

Wanting to get out of the inn, he decided to go sit outside for a while and write the poem.
He told Sophia he was leaving and she responded by...well not responding.

She just waved her hand goodbye as she was looking at her phone.

"Take your time, I'll probably get some food or something. Probably not though~"

He stepped out of the creaking door and walked to a bench near the cathedral he saw when they were driving over.

He sat down on a bench in front of it and took out his notebook.

He grabbed a pencil from his pocket and began to write another poem.

((A/N: rosie321go101 ✨poem time✨🤡))

The work stood still
made from the hands of the world
Stare at the beauty
Until my thoughts swirled

The curl of the wood,
The arches made strong,
they point to the sky
With nothing made wrong

He placed his pencil down and sighed happily.

"Not too bad Charles, quite the poet you are," He said to himself as he got off the bench and started to walk back
The sun started to fade over the horizon, so he took it as a sign to head back.

He got a bit lost so  by the time he got back, the sun had set all the way, and the stars were starting to show through the midnight blue.

Stepping once more through the creaky door, he trudged up the stairs and into his room.

He was expecting to see Sophia still there with her eyes glued to her phone screen, but when he opened the door she was nowhere to be found.

Hmm she must've gotten out to get some food. He thought as he plopped down on the bed.

He looked around before putting on his baby blue, silk pyjamas with a matching hat to cover his hair that most certainly hasn't been washed in a bit.

He sat down on the bed and began to flip through a book that he brought along,

As he read he heard the doorknob turn. He looked over and saw a very tired and bloody...Sophia.

"Where have you been?"

"Getting some food~"
