Armando awoke the next morning, Everett still in his arms which was much to his surprise but a welcomed one. He shifted slightly and pulled Everett close to his chest, the other boy letting out a soft groan in his sleep. Armando smiled softly and lay there, his mind completely cleared of all thoughts. After a while, he began to zone out, getting sucked into his mind. A sudden movement and a small squeak pulled him back to reality.
"Buba..? What time is it..?" Everett said in a small voice, rubbing his eyes. Armando looked down at the other boy, smiling more at how small he seemed like this.
"About 9 love..you can go back to bed..you need to rest.." Everett groaned and stretched out his legs, Armando cringing at the loud pops and cracking noises coming from his joints.
"I feel okay..just can't really walk...I wanna spend the day in bed with you.." Everett said with a yawn, burying his face in the crook of Armando's neck. "Please stay with me..I don't wanna be alone after...yesterday..."
"I'll stay..I'm right here love...I'll take care of you but...Ev you need to be careful. Seeing you break like that was..horrifying..." Armando said softly, petting the boy's head. Everett just nodded and curled up. Shortly after, Armando felt Everett begin to shake and cling to his shirt. Armando tilted his chin up, seeing his cheeks bright red and tears rolling down his face. He sat up quick, holding Everett close to his chest.
"Fuck..fuck I'm sorry..God I don't even know why I'm crying..why did I want to believe I had a family..I wish I never found out..." Everett continued to sob into his boyfriend's chest, Armando petting his head.
"Ev...shh..it's gonna be okay..maybe we can find some way to get you some help..this is a big thing and its all so fast...just a few days ago, you didn't know your name...now you have all this..losing parents hurts like fucking hell..trust me, I know..."
"I don't even want to think about it right now...can we just go out to the garden? Everything is better in the garden..." Armando sighed and nodded, picking Everett up and helping him outside.
"Eventually, we're gonna have to talk about it, you know that, right...?" Everett flicked his wrist at Armando to dismiss him, nodding a bit. Armando sat with him on a stone bench, a patch of marigolds behind them, the stones under their feet damp from the air and rain.
