"What?" Sapnap muttered. You sat to try and not pass out again.
"I can tell that the people don't want the force. I was told that they wanted peace, just peacefully. If that makes sense." Emiliana responded with a chuckle.
"I can understand that, and I will gladly accept that." You chimed. Emiliana turned towards you with a smile.
"Thanks, dear." She responded, and you nodded in response.
"Well now we need to somehow pause the game and make it official." Sapnap complained. You agreed with a chuckle.
You peeked outside the door cautiously to find no one in the halls, but hearing voices of Dream and Wilbur throughout the halls.
"We need to find George, and not get caught, are you up for it?" You ask, a playful smile appearing on all of your faces.
"It's been a while, but I think it'll be fun." Emiliana answered. You looked back into the hall, thinking.
"Where would the coward be right now?" You ask Sapnap, who begins to think with you.
"I believe I sent him to rest in his quarters, and knowing George, he's still there." Emiliana responded.
"So we go there." Sapnap chimed. You stepped back from the door and motioned for them to lead the way, since you didn't know where he was.
Running cautiously through the halls, you found yourself far more excited than before. Emiliana led you through the halls -- using a few secret halls of course -- and into George's quarters; George was asleep when you entered. Emiliana went over to his nightstand and pulled two metal pans from the drawer.
"I can wake him up. I suggest you cover your ears though." Emiliana suggested. You both covered your ears while Emiliana took a deep breath. Even through your tightly covered ears, you could hear her scream at him to wake up.
Instantly, George startled from his bed and looked around in confusion. You and Sapnap uncovered your ears, miraculously at the same time. "Mom?" George groans groggily, rubbing his eyes. "What are you all doing here?.."
"Well, George.. We have something important to say." Sapnap commented quietly. George's eyes widened, and he sat up. He must have thought something was wrong. No one you knew would get up that quickly.
"Is it father?" He demanded, before standing up and grabbing Sapnap's shirt collar. "Is it my father?"
"No! No, George, Anastazy is alright. Don't worry," he insisted, grabbing George's hands and dragging them away. George heaved a sigh of relief before slamming his head into Sapnap's chest. They were obviously close, you noticed. Almost like they were brothers.
"George," you began, barely wanting to ruin the brotherly moment going on, but wanting to break the good news. George looked up at you, practically disinterested in what you had to say.
Begrudgingly, he responded to you. "Yes, Y/N... dear?" He asked, obviously heaving an internal breath at the word "dear".
"Ew, stop." You grunted, leaning back on your heels. He gave you a wild look, his eyes flashing between yourself and his mother. "George, just- Just listen to your mother."
He looked over at her, confusion covering all of his face. "Mother...?"
"George," she smiled, her hands crossed politely in front of her. "Do you truly want to marry the sovereign?" George sputtered quietly, letting go of Sapnap completely. "That's exactly as I thought. Well, now you won't have to."
"WHAT?" He asked, almost giddy. You weren't saying that you weren't giddy, but at least you weren't going to happily shout 'yes' in the face of your ex-fiance.
----
After a long while of explaining to George how the wedding was going to be called off, he turned toward you. "No way," he giggled like a small child. "No way your father agreed to this?"
That statement was what caused the world to crumble around you. You were so busy worrying about how awesome it was going to be without the weight of this relationship held tightly above your head. Now, you were forced into the memory of your dunce of a father.
"Y/N?" George asked quietly, his head tilted ever so slightly to the right. "He did agree, right?"
"George--" You sputtered quietly, dread filling your bones. What about your dad. What was he going to say? On that same note: what about Anastazy? There was no way he'd let this slide. He knew just as well as you did that this marriage was the only way to fix the problems between the nations.
Right? Right, that's the only way. It had to be the only way. There were no other ideas that could fix this. It had to be you and George. You and George had to be the solution, right? Yeah, yeah, you had to be.
The world surrounding the edges of your vision slowly began blurring and darkening. You started shaking uncontrollably, and you could feel it. You locked eyes with George again.
"George, he's not going to let us."
