Professor Slughorn ordered us to be put into partners. But before I could even ask Nora she partnered up with her boyfriend, Michael.

He was a nice but quiet guy.

I unfortunately had to work alone or so I thought before I saw a quite handsome boy be alone as well. Then I realized that was the same boy who's friends with Draco Malfoy.

A beaming red flag. Before I started brewing my potion, Professor Slughorn stopped me.

"Theodore Nott still needs a partner. You two will be perfect," He said.

I sighed as he walked over here.

"You're smart right?" He asked.

"Yes.." I said questionably.

"You're a Ravenclaw," he added.

I didn't reply. He was already judging me based off my house. Yes I was exceptionally smart but not all Ravenclaws were. For example, Professor Lockeheart turned out to be a lying fraud who was far from intelligent.

"So what are we brewing again..I didn't pay attention," He asked.

"I could see that, but we're making Amortentia,"

I reached for the stirring spoon but we happened to reach for it first and our hands met. His hands were very cold and veiny.

"I'll stir it," he said.

"If you're trying to get me to do all the work while you just stir, it's not going to happen, Nott," I said.

He grinned and put the spoon down, "I knew you were smart,"

Theodore was charming. I didn't like it.

But I couldn't help but smile.

He noticed it and teased me a little for it, "Awh- I knew I could crack a smile at you,"

I rolled my eyes, "Since you know everything, measure the pearl dust and get to work."

"So angsty," He said as he got the pearl dust out of the glass jar.

He spilt a little but the measurement was decently exact.

Nott was a fair partner but he tended to do more flirting than working.

He would mention now and then how smart I was and how it was attractive, noticed me around school now and then. I'd ignore his little comments and move on.

"Okay ignore me, but I still made you smile," He said.

We finished up the potion and asked Professor Slughorn to check it.

He applauded us and closed the cauldron. We finished class and planned on smelling the amortentia the next day.

"I bet your amortentia is going to smell like me," he said as I walked out of class with Nora.

"You wish," Nora spat.

Theodore ignored her, "I can I talk to you for a second," but before I could answer Nora replied for me, "No she does not,"

"Does she? Or are you just speaking for her?" He said.

"Both of you shut it. Theodore what do you want," I said.

Nora sighed and walked over to Michael.

"I wanted to know if you would help me with my potions homework.." He said slowly.

"Why can't Draco help you?"

"He's busy,"

"Pansy?"

"Doesn't want to,"

"Blaise?"

"Busy,"

"You're just going to keep going till I say yes aren't you." I said.

He smiled, "Well..."

"Fine. Great hall, during lunch." I said, giving in.

We parted our ways and I walked back to our common room.

"What was that about?" Nora asked as we walked up the stair.

"It's nothing," I said trying to end her curiosity.

"It didn't look like nothing," Michael added.

"If he does anything, I'll kill him," Nora said.

"Just shut it. I'm helping him with his homework. I'll tell you if he does anything okay?" I said with a tone.

Nora rolled her eyes, "Sure," She said sarcastically.

Sometimes I just want her to roll her eyes till they pop out but she was only looking out for me, after what happened last year.
