Trials begin

As we started lining up for instructions, Anzei pulled me aside and asked me once again, "Are you sure you want to begin the trials?" He had a worried expression, "No I'm fine, the trials is something important and I have to do them." I claimed. "Okay then, go get in line and be ready for what is going to happen." He ordered.

As I was getting in line with the other people my stomach started acting up, I have to hold it in or else Anzei won't let me perform in the trials. I noticed how many women were here to star in the trials. Some I knew, some I hated. Also the men, most threw themselves at me but I always declined, they had no respect for themselves or more for others.

"Listen up, we are going to start the trials, these are going to be difficult, gut wrenching, and vigorous tests. These trials or tests are meant for me to see how much you know and how much you've improved since last years trials. After these tests, they can land you harder but much more paid jobs.

First trial has to do with knives, the first part is knife throwing, you will try to hit the red dot exactly on the targets. You will have to keep throwing until you hit the red dot, we will keep count how many times it took for you to hit it exactly on the red dot.

The second part you will try to hit as much of the targets on red dot in one minute.The third part you will be paired with a partner and we will be in a different part of the gym where there will be targets moving and you both have to hit as much of them as you can. The third part will determine who out of both of you has the best observation of moving objects."
"Let's begin with the knife throwing. Let's start with Elijah Rowan." Anzei stated.

That name sounded familiar, I'm pretty sure I have heard his name before in a news article. He was tall, much like Anzei, tanned like him too, he had sharp features. He was mostly known for his skills with guns, all types of guns, big or on the smaller side. For most, that's all I had on him.

Getting ready to throw the knives, he had no expression on his face, it was just blank, his face said nothing about him. His stance was correct, although his hands were in the wrong position. With that hand position he is going to hit it too low.

He threw it, I was correct, he hit the crotch area not anywhere near the chest. The next one he threw was more closer to the chest but not exactly on the red dot. On his third attempt he had hit it exactly on the red dot. He was unfazed. There was something weirdly interesting about him.

As he was going to begin the second part he had made a side eye at me, not in a good way but not in a bad way either.

As Anzei was retelling him what he had to do in the second part more targets starting coming out, about 20, in rows, some in the back, middle, and front.

After Anzei's instructions he was getting in position for the timer to start.

"Start!" Anzei instructed. The timer started counting down from 60 seconds.

The first one he threw missed, as did the second, as did the third. He was going to quickly, he had to take his time and make sure his precision was correct. When he realized he was going to fast and missing, he slowed down, measured where he would throw the next knife. And with that he threw it directly on the dot.

One. I started counting to myself.

The next he took his time and made sure his precision was correct, he made it again, exactly on the dot.

Two.

After those successful throws he did the same steps for the rest of the time. It was now down to 10 seconds, and with 16 accurate throws. He could probably make one more. On his last throw he took some extra time, making sure he would make this last one.

Right before the timer went off he had made his last throw successful.

After he had finished his two parts of the first test he got back in line.

Now I had to wait for my turn to come.
