The illness hits Jennie with a vengeance. It took hold of her at the start of the week, and by Friday it was at full throttle, and Jennie felt like her whole head had been stuffed full of cotton wool and her throat rubbed raw with sandpaper. It was lucky for her, then, that filming had finished for the holidays, and she didn't have to power through every scene in fear of giving someone, most likely Lisa, the plague.
Sunday, she curls up on her hotel room bed, fully prepared for a whole day of feeling sorry for herself. Her friends seem to have other ideas, as they've all decided to make camp in her room, determined to bother her.
She shrouds herself in her blanket, covering her head. "Can't you all just leave me alone?" she says, her voice muffled.
"Aww, don't you like us anymore, Jen?" RM says, grinning as he pokes the lump of blankets that is Jennie
"You've become really mouthy since this production started," Jennie grumbles, her face still tucked away.
"Oh, I wonder who I got it from."
Jennie makes a noise that sounds a lot like 'hmmmph,' but says nothing more after that.
"What's even wrong with you, Jennie?" Kai says.
"I'm sick!" comes the disgruntled wheeze from the bed.
The boys laugh. No sympathy, no sympathy at all.
"Yeah, lovesick," RM mutters.
Jennie pulls down the blanket a little so that the top of her head, her eyes and her nose pop out of the top. She glares daggers at her friends.
"What did you just say?"
RM shrugs, casting her gaze away from Jennie. "Nothing."
"Are you sure you're sick, Jennue?" Kai says. "Sure you're not just wearing yourself out, thinking too hard, about something... or someone?"
Don ignores the subtext and goes straight for it. "She's in love," he says, smugly.
Jennie rips the blanket away from her head and sits up. "Don't bring that kind of talk in here," she says. Then there's a pause. "What do you mean 'in love'?"
"You. You're in love. It's written all over your face," RM says, a grin spreading across his face.
"Don't know what you're talking about," Jennie mutters, covering her head with the blanket once more.
"Oh, so you haven't been going out of your way to be nice to a certain someone, recently?" RM says.
"Or been looking at yourself in every mirror you see?" Kai snorts.
"Not at all trying to impress anyone," RM says, folding his arms and grinning.
Great. Tag-teamed by RM and Kai, of all people. The day they teamed up, was a sad, sad day for human kind.
"That's it," Jennie says, flinging the blankets off her and grabbing a hoodie from the floor. "I'm done."
She pulls the hoodie over herself and marches towards the door.
"Where are you even going?" Kai says.
"Anywhere away from here. I don't have to sit through this teasing," she says, stuffing her hands in her pockets and leaving the room.
She can hear their gales of laughter from down the hallway.

Lisa holes herself up in her hotel room, wondering if it's possible to avoid every single human until the production is finished. Of course, that'd mean having to skip out on all of the rest of her scenes... maybe they could just recreate her image with CGI or something.
She groans and presses her hands in front of her face. No. She refuses to let this stop her from living her life as she always has. Why should it stop her?
The earth shattering revelation that Jennie Kim likes her had shaken Lisa up, taken everything she knew and turned it upside down. What was she supposed to do now? She didn't want to date Jennie. Frankly, the thought made her want to gag. Jennie – the girl who had done nothing but argue with her for years? She wouldn't date her, not if someone paid her.
And that's so not how you're supposed to act when you like someone. It was like they were five years old and she was pulling her pig-tails to try and get her attention. They'd met in college, for heaven's sake. They were past all of this.
No. She does not like Jennie, and she does not want to date her, not in this lifetime or the next.

Girly nights with friends are just what Lisa needs. She feels like a teenager again, wearing pyjamas in the late afternoon, eating popcorn and watching whatever terrible movies they can find on the hotel television. She, Rosie, Jisoo and Mina crowd on Lisa's bed, and Lisa is happy to relax for the first time in a while.
"So, Jisoo," Rosie says, stretching her arm over behind her friend's back. "You got your eye on anyone?"
Jisoo quirks her eyebrow at Rosie and Lisa swears she sees her wink. Oh, no. These two are up to something.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Jisoo says. "Bet you don't even know my type."
Rosie strokes her chin, as if thinking carefully. "Hmm? Brunettes? Long-ish hair? Cat-like? Oh wait, Lisa's the one that likes cat-like people, right, Lisa?"
Liaa frowns. "...I've never said that?"
"Sure you have," Mina says, grinning as she gets wind of Rosie's game. "You're always talking about how you prefer someone who resembles those felines."
"I did not!"
Rosie raises her eyebrows and pats Lisa on the shoulder. "If you say so, dear cousin."
There's a pause while everyone goes back to chewing on popcorn, and watching the TV. Then, Rosie lets out an ungodly noise, something like a yelp combined with a twitch of her shoulders. Lisa mutes the sound, and everyone turns to look at Rosie, concerned.
"Sorry," Rosie mutters. "I'm fine, felt like a cat scratched my throat"
Jisoo pats her on the back. "You sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, probably just drank something too quickly."
Lisa narrows her eyes at the two of them. Yeah, they're definitely up to something.
That's it for a little while, before they run out of food, and Jisoo goes to microwave something. They don't hear from her from a while until she makes an irritated sound, and hits the machine.
"You okay?" Rosie calls.
Jisoo heads back over to them holding their now warm food. "Yeah, just a little mistake with the meow-," she coughed, "-microwave"
"Okay, okay," Lisa says, standing up and facing all of them. "I see what you're all doing here."
"Oh? What are we doing?" Rosie says, glancing around between Jisoo and Mina and then back at Lisa.
"Nothing, just that Jennie has come up about twenty times in the last twenty minutes!" Lisa says.
Rosie raises an eyebrow. "Lis, you're the one that brought her up. You're the one that's thinking about her."
She ends her sentence with a smirk and Lisa smiles back, tilting her head to the side. "Okay, if that's the way you want to play it."
She launches herself at Rosie, and the two of them end up rolling around on the floor in a wrestle tickle war, the two of them shaking with laughter. Mina and Jisoo watch from above on the bed, sharing the popcorn as they watch the two cousins play fight.
"Okay, okay," Rosie says, between breaths. She holds her arms up in surrender. "You win, you win."
Lisa smiles, smug. "That's what I thought."
"You definitely like Jennie, though."
Rosie bolts up off the floor and out of the room, shrieking with laughter as Lisa jumps up after her.
