Canine System: To Live a Fulfilling Life

"Thomas White" 

There was a person who called the Human soul who just arrived at the lobby of the upper level in the System Headquarters. The Human soul, also known as Thomas White, turn around and faced his long-time companion while world-hopping, the Truth System. 

With an appearance of a middle-aged British man in his forties, the Truth System started to walk towards his direction while asking, 

"Are you really going to continue your life cycle as a canine in the next cycle?" The Truth System asked and looked at Thomas with a stoic expression. 

"Indeed I am," Thomas said with a smile. The Truth System frowned at this, it cannot decipher why this astonishing and brilliant human soul was willing to spend another cycle of his long life as an animal, it was too confusing.

"Truth System, sometimes, its hard being human, there's too much restriction, too many expectations, too many risks. Being an animal, you will be free to do anything as you like, that is until you are domesticated by humans, do you get my point?" Thomas asked the system with a small smile. 

The Truth System was silent for a while before he spoke, this time his words were plain, straightforward, and very blunt.

"Do you mean to say that you do not want to be restricted anymore so you want to be an animal who can be let loose and doesn't have to be tied by anyone, any corruption, malice, resentment, and other indescribable things humans do that could lead to their ultimate end?"

"Exactly, and for that to happen I need the Canine System,"

"I see... The actions and reasons are unreasonable but since it's the truth, then so be it." The Truth System said and left him in the lobby alone. 

Thomas White released a sigh before sitting down on one of the couches inside the lobby. He looked back at the first cycle of his life were on his every transmigration, he tries to get a pet dog as his companion until he reach his one-year minimum and left the mission world. However, before every year ends, they would either get thrown into a chaotic situation and die in vain because of him. 

Some were killed after hostage, some were killed while protecting him, some got kidnapped, drowned, or thrown in cliffs or ocean, all because of him. 

In the first place, Thomas White's roles were just some cannon fodders seeking the truth from the blank side of each mission world, but because of this, He always became the natural enemy of the others, therefore, things that were precious to him, especially his companions, always met a cruel end. 

Because of this, from his 300th transmigration to the last one, he tried to never show interest in animals that he dearly loves. 

He hopes that in this life, he could have a taste of what it feels like to be the companion and try to do something to deal with the main casts and save the other animals who were abused. To stir the waves and throw people in chaos, of course, it would go towards the main casts when they were involved, that is why Thomas included those clauses in the contract. 

He knows how to stir trouble in those people, how to judge them, before using them to his advantage, that is why even if he left the mission world after ten years, he still left the imprint of himself those casts and the mission worlds was still pretty much intact.

Thomas wonders how will the next transmigration of his will be with the Canine System, will his new companions be awesome or sweet? Will they be strict towards him or loving? What would their jobs be? Suddenly, he felt excited about these thoughts and he wanted to know more about how domesticated pets look and act towards their companions. 

While he was reminiscing about the past, and thinking of the future ahead, the Canine System appeared through the elevator and called towards him. Thomas stood up in surprise and walk towards him in big footsteps. 

"Canine System, you are here, will you sign the contract?" There was a fire of passion in Thomas' eyes while he look into the eyes of the Canine System. The Canine System pursed his lips as he meet the passion of this human soul before looking away, 

"This kind of contract, I will not sign it," The Canine System said and gave back the folder to Thomas and left the lobby. 

Thomas was beyond shocked. Nobody has denied or rejected him once, even when he gets unreasonable. Finally snapping out of his thoughts he used the elevator and went directly towards the floor for Animal Systems and he looked around for the Canine System. He tried to approach the other animal system to ask but he was met with a vicious glare and hostility. 

See? Not all animals welcome humans! It's because of their cruelty and raising other animals as livestock to survive! What more if it's a human soul?

After receiving the hostility of the others, Thomas reluctantly retreated. He went back to the previous lobby and met the Truth System there again who have a look of dissatisfaction on his handsome face. 

"You immoral soul, what are you doing running around the Animal System floor like it's your backyard? Are you out of your mind?!" The Truth System pinched and twisted Thomas' ears in irritation. Thomas cried out and asked why he was doing this, and the answer made him surprised. 

"You buffoon! Each level was not only to separate systems but to set boundaries and priorities! You barging in the Animal System floor, you just break a rule! Tsk, Go up the court! You will be detained for sure!" The Truth System pushed him and escorted him to the Court Level and saw the other systems but the majority were from the Animal System floor. Among them, he saw the Canine System who was avoiding his gaze. 

The court mainly consist of him, a human soul, barging in the floor of Animal Systems and they were offended and hostile towards him, making him, Thomas White, the offender who broke one of the rules existing in the System Headquarters, when the court tackles about his punishment, the Canine System unexpectedly stood up and gave a suggestion to the Court. 

"To the court and my fellow animal system, We can let him transmigrate in probation under one of the animal systems to do some tasks to redeem himself in the duration of his offense. That way, he will be productive while doing tasks in the scale of difficulty as an animal, may I suggest that he transmigrate under the Canine category while in parole?" The Canine System's tone was polite but straightforward, and his eyes were only directed to the court who was holding the hammer.

The Animal Systems have different expressions on their faces, satisfaction, angry, unreconciled expression, but those were not directed to the Canine System, but towards Thomas White instead. 

"To the court, I want to suggest to make him transmigrate under the reptile category!" After two systems were suggested, four and more system also suggested their category. The Court who was sitting way up and looking at their expressions, looked displeased.

"Dispel those nasty thoughts inside your heads. As the Animal Systems, do you wish to adapt their cruelty towards your kins?! Be quiet!" The court said and the Animal Systems quiet down and looked down in shame and embarrassment. Only the Canine System stood firm in his stead and stared back at the court with a determined gaze. 

"What is your defense on suggesting this, Canine System?"

"Because canines were greatly domesticated by humans in most of the mission worlds, the percentage of canines who died cruel deaths, neglect, and abuse were high. If he, one way or another, helps to lessen these preposterous activities of humans as a canine, then he can redeem himself from his current offense, as an animal," The Canine system said and the other Animal System protested at this. Of course, their animal categories were also abused and killed for entertainment and as food for humans! How come Canine System is only talking about his kin?

However, being shot by another glare from the court, the others begrudgingly held their contempt and quiet down. After a while, the court agreed to this kind of punishment, and an official contract of parole was held by the contractor: Canine System, and the offender: Thomas White.
